that's ok. :)

The question answers itself.

Depends on the church and what they do with it.

Thank you for bringing out the real verse.

Because they are evil.

You have misquoted the Bible verse. It is "For the love of money is the root of all evil".

Doesn't change the point. Money is still evil, and churchs are still asking for it.

It does change the point. Having money isn't evil, but desiring it is.

Not desiring it, but placing the possession of it above all else.

Oi! *Whistles* I'll tell you three things about religion that you might not already know:

* Religion takes in billions of dollars every year.

* Churches and religious places pay no taxes.

* They ALWAYS need a little bit more.

Seriously, if you can convince people their is an invisible man living in the sky watching your every move every hour of every day, and he wants you to pay your church money every week. Then you... are rich! VERY RICH!

I know a Reverend, I went to his house for tea once, only because my parents were invited, he had a Wii, Xbox360, PS3, 2 widescreen TVs, Sky+, a huge house, two children in Primary school, a lovely wife (who didn't work), a computer or laptop for every household member, and two big cars... and all this guy did was sit at the frount of a church, and preach once a week. Sickens me.

Yes--and they got all that money by by desiring it, striving for it, and generally loving it.

Yes-- and that point too. Dauguy is the guy!

Money is just a tool, like any other. It can be used for good or evil. It's the person behind the money that makes the difference.

It very well does change the point. If money is evil, then the Queen of England is evil, because she is very wealthy. You need to re-think your point. There is a big difference between loving something and posessing something. Yes there are some churches that love money, and there are more churches struggling.

Im an atheist, but I know the scripture: 'the LOVE of money is the root of all evil'

Even Satan can quote scripture.

Go get a Bible and check it out. You are so WRONG. I Timoth 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil..."You may be an athist, but you certainly do not know the Bible.

As Hank Williams Jr. said,

"They tell you to send your money to the Lord,

But they give you their address."

Haaaaaaa!!

I kinda agree kinda don't. But its called offering, God isn't forcing you to give, but if you do its just showing your love for him, you don't HAVE to give money to church to show that. Honestly I don't really know why they do ask for money, but money is not the root of all evil, sin is.
