We think that a compramise of sending the daughter 2 to 3 half days a week would be enough time for a child of this age to go to daycare and allow the mother to work.
'Figures a suggestion like this one would come out of Israel.
The other day I listened to a stand-up comedian on TV and he told a joke about how to get two Jews to fight to the death. It involved doing something with a penny. But it was in such poor taste I am not going to repeat it. Now, however, after reading this comment, I am wondering if, maybe, there really is something to the stereotype that makes some people think that penny joke funny.
Immediately after the penny joke he told a similar joke about how to get two Catholic priests to fight to the death. The joke involved the use of a small boy. That joke was very tasteless too. I only mention it now so you won't think the guy was being exclusively anti-Semitic; he had it in for everybody.

Oh I could perfectly see an answer like the one from sigardit coming from my country as well. But then similar jokes about greedy Dutchmen are also being told.
On please, that is why like all the kids who stay home, and don't go to Day Care, are very socially awkward when they start school, because they haven't been exposed to public sociality.... You are saying a statement that you have no backing but your own personal opinion
Heck no!!! Being able to take care of your kids at home and avoid the cost of daycare may be the single biggest reason for wanting to work at home in the first place.
I don't know a single one of my friends who went to daycare. That was for rich people; we weren't rich and none of my friend's parents were rich either, that is why mom had to stay home with the kids while dad worked.
Well in a rapid pass state, like California, where the majority of households have both parents employed, i know, shocking for a hickleberry Wal-Mart state like yours, and so who is going to watch the kids? Not a stay at home mom who let herself go and wears here pajamas all day like where you live. Even single parents send their kids to daycare, as did my mom.
Well perhaps there is a father as well in the family who could take some responsability for his child when the mother is already working a fulltime job?

good idea!
NO day care! NOOOO!
I think day care is one of the big reasons our nation is going to crap these days. I hate it.
The child doesn't get enough personal attention. If you can at ALL take care of the child yourself, then do it.

Who said they haven't been exposed to public society?
There are plenty of other, and in my mind, more healthy ways to do that.
I never went to day care, and in fact, was home schooled for a couple years before starting public school, and I turned out fine.
And as for opinion, isn't this question pretty much based on opinion? It could easily go either way ... and with very good reasons for both sides.
I just hate to see kids herded like cattle for their very influential first years.

I think day care is good for a kid, but is the bitch really that lazy.....

You know a lot about "hickleberry" New York City I see (during the years I lived there).
Boy, you're a smart cookie. BTW, in those years there were no Wal-Marts up there!

My girlfriend works at home with the two kids. That's the magic of being able to work from home.
then why work at home? I've been doing it for over 10 years when my kids were 1 and 2 - it worked fine. They learned to play quietly while I worked.
Stay at home Mum's and their young children have a close bond and the child feels secure.
No-One will care about me children as much as I do.
Why not put the child to work in the business?
No-one gets a free ride in this life. Surely she could toddle around and lick stamps or something.
