Batter than what? This question reeks of bias. Is the question, "Will a War veteran be a better president that an unproven Senator" then maybe it would be legit. Just being a war veteran doesn't mean anything in the context of presidency.
He has some legislation that people liked. And he has been known to work with Dems on things. Those are both good things. My point wasn't so much the other stuff about McCain, as it was to point out how bad the question was.
If all things were equal, except one was a Vet, then I don't see how anyone can answer the question as anything other than Yes. Obviously the person who has the exact same qualifications but hasn't had Military experience would be the lesser candidate. Since the Vet has done and can do everything the other candidate does (they are equal after all). Given pure equals this question is terrible. Its like saying:
You can have this Sundae + 1 dollar, or just this Sundae. Which is better.
Anybody who can see serving ones country as a negative doesn't deserve to have a vote. If we didn't have a Military, and people willing to join it, then we would not have a nation at all. You can dislike the policy, but disliking the troops, or their service is over the line.
People once thought being a confirmed Born Again Christian would make a better President too. Now you decide, did it?
Of all the Presidents we've had in the USA in the last 30 years, when you think of the one President that was most memorable was it the Born Again Christian, the Movie Actor, the Rhodes scholar, or, um, the Dynastic Duo?
I think most people would say the Movie Actor, don't you?

I really don't see that as making a difference. But I am getting sick of seeing one political commercial on TV already that has to do with that.
I can agree with that.
I haven't seen it. I knew there was a reason I don't watch much TV. :-)
Um, actually this pc is probably why.

Is McCain a proven Senator?
LOL, whatever you think man.
Dunno much about him, that's why I asked. I haven't had a chance to read his autobiography yet.

It now seems like it's more of a resume enhancer than anything else.
