I think that a government that allows (taxes) the retail sale of alcoholic beverages should provide rehab.

The friggin taxes are your punishment for drinking. If you need rehab, save your money.
They provide the choice for you to or not--that is more involved than Gov should be---you make the choice and you have the right to suffer the consequences, not the Gov.
What I am asking here is if not rehab or medicine, why tax?
For the money. So they can spend it on earmarks.
The government is into so many places where it should not be already. Leave my drinking alone!
The gov only taxes things that they know the people are going to buy anyway regardless of price. If they figured that people wouldn't buy it, there would either be no or lower tax on it. The gov spends the money on what they want to spend it on not what the constituents say they should. If you don't like it, get everybody you know and your self off of your asses and vote the bums out. Get rid of the old pharts. Like McCain and crew. They only serve the interests of the folks filling their bank accounts.
Wing, you know what will END the gasoline rising price crisis? The cost of transporting BEER to the masses in the US. Can't have those poor beer drinkers pay more!! Wanna bet?
Any reason beats no reason. :-)
It's a vicious circle. The transport companies put the cost off on the beer companies and they raise the price if beer. We pay, We pay, We pay.
Mags! I'd love to buy you a couple Lone Stars the next time I'm in Texas. Might cheer you up.
Yes Wingnut I agree except maybe for the McCain reference. It appears that most of our representatives since the "Tea Party" have either looked the other way or forgotten we are not serfs anymore.
Right. The congress needs new and young blood to get different ideas into the process besides "I hate you because you hate me" because hate, hate hate.
