The word "planet" is an ancient one, meaning "wandering star". The fact that a group of astronomers decided to redefine it for their own purposes within the context of scientific discussion should be irrelevant to popular usage. They don't own the language, and we all should feel free to call Pluto a planet if we want to. It's still a wandering star as the ancients defined it.
There were nine and one got downgraded.
I'm kind of bummed about ol' Pluto. I think he got shafted.
Pluto 1930-2006
Revolve in Peace
It's still a dwarf planet..
I believe they prefer the term, "little" planets. ;-) (I'm going to get it for that one, I just know it.)
I hear Pluto tossing is popular in Australia.
Those crazy folk will do anything for a laugh!
And more were added to that downgraded planet, totaling 12 planets and dwarf planets.
