Why so any many questions which unreasonably assume there is a god?
Dumb question peterf. You should know by now that there are religious freaks under ever rock and are waiting to bring it up at every opportunity, specially when they know they are aggravating someone.
That's because they don't actually respect anything they "believe" in - they just like using a cross to push people around and hit them with.
Sometimes I feeling that the religoids are trying to convince themselves, not the rest of us.
The thing I can't figure out is how can it be that more than one group claims their group is the only group. They can't all be right, can they?
I really don't think I'm extraordinarily STUPID, but this is one conundrum I still haven't figured out. :-(
None of them are right.
... and all of them are so BORING! If you ever want to meet an evil person - shake hands with a 21st Century Evangelical.
totally...
Of course insisting there is only ONE WAY backed with the threat of an eternity of hellfire is a great marketing strategy sure to keep the coffers full, eh? :-`)
But the really perplexing thing is this: what would be the bigger mystery, ...was everything created by design, or was it all an accident? Actually either possibility requires faith, does it not? Either you have faith in what you think, or you have the same faith as billions of other people across all time. How does one make the right decision?
Hedge your bet, believe, and follow a moral code? Or do your own thing and always wonder if it was the right thing?
A whole bunch of us share your thoughts on this.
i'll do you one better than that. how can christians think they are choosen by god when they worship this guy Jesus, idolatry anyone, whose religion, Judaism says that the chosen people were already chosen. there's a little cognitive dissonance there.
To date no one on site has answered my last question about this poll:
Hedge your bet, believe, and follow a moral code? Or do your own thing and always wonder if it was the right thing?
