15-18 if you're going to leave for over a day, but i've been staying home alone for 6 hours since i was nine. plus, I'm really good with emergency situations.
Maybe your parents allowed you to think for yourself?
My kid is allowed to stay home by himself for 24 hours and he is 14, but he knows how to cook basic stuff without burning down the house. (now if I only could persuade him to clean up after....)
