How much does your family pay per month for health care/ health insurance? Ask a Question

6 Answers

Free at a Public Hospital. If I go to my preferred doctor at a nearby clinic about $15.

Most people in Australia don't have any health insurance, but some want to go to a Private Hospital with their choice of doctor, so they would have insurance.

For one person $262.28 per month--but that will go up a LOT in August when the annual renewal comes up.

What I get for that--

One physician;s visit for annual checkup.

One Mammogram

One Pap.

A $5000 deductible--that is FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR deductible. Per YEAR.

I can only use it seven months of the year, while I am in New York. The rest of the time I have no insurance at all.

Decent hospitalization coverage if I need it--up to $5 million per year--and assuming I am not immediately canceled if I try and collect on it.

That is about 12% of my GROSS (pre-tax) income.

Don't say it is free-it's never free. It cost plenty even for the "unfortunates".

Under $450 a month, but I have to add that "my family" consists of just me.

ditto

I can not buy insurance. I pay a little over $400 per month for my 2 kids. This includes dental and has fairly high deductibles and they pay fairly well.
