Best friends like the ones I had growing up -- none,; friends I can call and suggest we get together for bowling or having a beer or whatever -- probably around ten; friends who would visit me in the hospital if I was recuperating ... about twenty-five. When I was in the hospital in 2004 I could not believe so many people liked me enough to come visit. I thought gee, this is amazing.
"A good friend is someone you can steal a horse with".
"You cannot select your family, but you can select your friends".
"A friendship needs to grow".
I believe in those sayings and am very fortunate being together with my best friends of both sexes for tens of years. They are my family! Newer friendships are still in "growing progress". :)
