If I had already settled on one candidate I'd stick with him if it hairlipped the pollster. If not, polls might influence me, but not much as I know that polls can be read several difference ways.

nothing the news media much impresses me! their polls are the best money can buy LOL

Very likely. If a person I don't like is in the lead it is twice as likely I'll go vote for someone I like better.
