When Cissy Spacek got the lead role in the movie "Coal Miner's Daughter," she had to lose 15 pounds in a very short amount of time. She was able to do it. When asked what her secret was for such rapid weight loss she said, "Oh, that's easy. I just don't eat."
I have always remembered Cissy's words any time I wanted to lose weight quickly. It's simple. Like Cissy Spacek said, if you want to lose weight quickly just don't eat.
I do suppose Cissy had medical help to enable her to accomplish her goal. If you decide to follow her advice I strongly recommend you talk it over with a doctor first too.
Great way to screw up your metabolism. It sends the wrong signal that you are starving to death and lowers your ability to burn fat. You are actually better off increasing your energy output and eating a little MORE than using that method.
If you want useful information then I think you should avoid ever eating MORE if you are overweight. Eat 3 meals a day and cut your portions in half, drink twice as much water as you normally do (no sodas and no diet drinks) and then get a little exercise. You will loose weight, its not rocket science.
Think of it as simple addition/subtraction. You need to burn more calories than you eat in order to lose weight. What you DON'T want to do is throw your body into shock by losing too much weight too fast. That is why Weight Watcher's is a great program - they step your calorie intake down gently. You should plan on taking several months to lose the weight you need to. Whatever you do, no starvation diets - you will simply gain the weight back and more fast.
Maybe she is a very mature AND intelligent 15 year old?
Your argument reminds me of the library's argument when I was in 7th grade and they wouldn't hand out "adult" library cards until a patron was in the 8th grade. They would not take into account any of the factors about the level of intelligence and maturity typical of an 8th grader, they simply had a one track mind and would not allow logic to enter the discussion. Even though most newspapers in America are geared for the reading level of sixth graders the librarian they took the hard line simply because she worked there and she could (and so she did).

You need professional help and you need support from your family and friends. This is something that can't be done alone. Do it now so you won't look back in 10 years and say I shuda, coulda, woulda. Get help now. You will be so much happier.
Please, bennc09, never ever (!) do what chipmonk suggested. What was said above is very true your weight and even more will come back in no time and it's very unhealthy.
I have some additional suggestions for you. Please go to www.TheDoctorsTV.com and TheDr.Ozdiet. Maybe you have heard of these two new interesting health programs on TV already? They are offering helpful tips on all different kinds of health issues incl. diet, diet-cooking and exercise. You can mail in your questions which the doctors might discuss during their programs or they might even invite you personal to their show to talk directly to you. I would not be surprised.
I tape the two shows every day (Mo-Fri) as I tape everything else incl. the news. It saves me much time, because I skip what I am not interested in, can watch it when I have the time and can keep the tape I want to watch another time again. That is just another suggestion. OK? OK!
I think, you know as well as I do that it's very tough to loose weight on your own. It will become easier and you will feel better with every dropped pound. Do you know, before you start a diet you should talk to your doctor first because of health issues? I would ask him also if your health insurance or a charity will pay for a diet program and / or for a diet camp for young people. At a camp they all have to go through the same program to loose weight and - very important - you are not alone and will make friends all at the same time.
Another tip: When I see my doctors I always bring my prepared list with questions with me. Not only that it helps me not to forget any of my questions, but I write the doctor's answers with few words down as well so that I can remember his answers later. Don't be shy, bennc09, to do that. Your doctor will be impressed with you, because it shows him how serious you really are with your weight loss. I bring always my list with me, even when I went for a job interview; they all liked it. I don't want to be mad with myself on my way home "geez, I wanted to ask this and this and forgot, and now it's too late". Does that make sense to you, bennc09?
I hope, I could help you, but at the end it's always your decision what you think is the best for you to do. Right? Right! If you do a mistake you can always start new and learn from your mistake.
I have read all your questions and understand your situation very well. If I can I am more than willing to help you. All you have to do is to ask me. OK? OK!
I would like it if you would keep me informed, but you don't have to - no hard feelings.
I wish you much success with your weight loss. Head up, bennc09 - I know, you can and will do it! Later you have every reason to be very proud of yourself and so will I. Just take step by step and be patient, please. I am crossing my fingers for you. You will see that will help you additional. I wish you good luck! :)

you dont deserve friends you fat piece of crap
you saden me very much
Try a program like Weight Watchers; it teaches you how to eat and what a correct portion looks like.
As for exercise, you don't have to do anything hard all at once. Start with walking briskly 2 - 3 miles a day.
For someone in poor shape, that can be too much to start with.

chipmonk, This is a terrible reply. You are talking to a 15 year old.
