Don't have one. Now, if they ever replace all the wiring out here so DSL is available, I'll get one the nest day!

I'm curious -- the people who said yes -- why do you feel you need one?

Great question! Simple, I know, but I am curious as to why people answer the way they do.

Here a are a few reasons:

1. If there's a power cut, your mobile won't last for long; a landline will keep on trucking even without power.

2. Freephone numbers are actually free on landlines.

3. Calls are much cheaper on landlines (we have unlimited free calls)

I keep one for your reason #1.

MUCH cheaper, plus we have very poor reception for mobile phones in some parts of rural North Wales (where we live).

My alarm system needs a land line.

All of the above, plus, I like the feel of a real telephone. Not some tiny toy squished between 2 fingers, a real phone I can grip in my hands.

If Cell phones were 3x as big as they are now I'd be much happier with them.
