My MomCat (RIP) wouldn't even stay in her bed to give birth unless I was there. If I tried to walk off, she would start to follow, contractions or no. I found her when she was barely old enough to eat on her own, about 4 ounces of black fur and cuddle, no audible purr (but here throat sure vibrated!) She "adopted" my mid-back length hair as her substitute mom, and slept there all her life.

Yeah, yeah. I was a big fan of Steve Irwin, too. I think this is what happens when you never have kids ... (lol)
A very nice tribute to your lost girl.
I don't think Cookie was ugly at all. On the contrary, I think she was beautiful.
She was a beautiful girl, those big brown eyes can melt a heart.
My dog and I are very close and I have kids.
A dog can be just as important as a child.
