Only been to Estonia but only after it had become an independent country again so that does not count. Would like to go there, I think it is an interesting place.

Several times. My wife is from there and her mother still lives there. Great country with great people. The visa situation kind of stinks, along with the remnants of Soviet thinking , think of Jonmarc as a communist :-)), but the people are most enjoyable, the sites fantastic, and the food is surprisingly good! Plus, they're known for my favorite alcoholic beverage ;-)

I visited some of the eastblock countries some 25 years ago and was called a "capitalist". When I went to the US the next year I was called a "communist". It was an interesting experience and the first time I realized the misconceptions we all have about other parts of the world and the people who live there.
Oh and I preferred my travels in the eastblock countries, but I would have preferred to lived in the US though. Not sure if that is the same today.

No, but I can see it from my front porch. Doesn't this fact qualify me as an expert on Russia?
Okay, I'll own up to the truth here, I can peer into my den and see it on the world map. Isn't that as good as a front porch view?
