lol - check out your mother's father's hair. That is where men inherit their hair genetics from. Stress or other issues can affect your hair, but if your mother's dad is bald ... get out the razor! If he has/had a full head of hair, then something else is going on. A trip to a dermatologist will make the difference.

Well, I'll be. The biggest freak of nature is a regular commenter on Ask500! And he's related to the OTHER biggest freak of nature! (hee hee hee)
There's exceptions to every rule, but that's majority odds. Kinda like the two black kids I know that had a white baby girl. Blonde hair, blue eyes - the whole bit. Turns out that his great-grandmother was white. But what were the odds? (lol)
Finally, no clear inheritance pattern of male pattern baldness was observed. The relatively strong concordance for baldness between fathers and sons in this study was not consistent with a simple Mendelian autosomal dominant inheritance. A polygenic etiology should be considered.
Researchers suspect that several genes inherited from both parents play a role in androgenetic alopecia. Paternal hair loss has been shown to correlate with chances of alopecia in sons, while variations in the androgen receptor gene (AR), which can also correlate with baldness, are X linked and thus inherited from one's maternal grandfather or grandmother.

Okay, this is helpful... if I were a geneticist. Actually, it's not so bad... I guess it's a mix of genes, huh?
I still have it, although it's receding. I'm still quite young, too.
Darn.
I guess this isn't the type of question a lady with naturally curly red hair should be answering. *flips hair around a bit*
About the only complaint I have these days is the color has darkened with age (what hasn't started turning grey, that is!)
PS If you see Dauguy, don't tell here where I am...she is threatening to cut it off and make a wig.
'Sheep loooomms above us with her finely coiffed hair.
*grins!*
It would be fun to grow a really great comb-over, for comic effect. Either that, or a really bad toupee.
Oh, geez! A comb-over... LOL! I'll shave those traitorous hairs before I do *that*.
Think of the fun you could have on a windy day.
ROFL *cough* *cough*
