I don't have any particular political affiliation but will attach myself to certain issues. I don't like "jargon" to describe people or issues, like "liberal"; I think it's lazy and replaces critical thinking. I read a lot and I put polls up on issues when I want to compare my opinions against those of others. Often I'm surprised and that's what I like about Ask500. I'm back in Maine (thank god) now after having spent 8 months in Germany and 6 weeks in Krakow, Poland. I did go back to Poland, near Warsaw, for six weeks but am back. I'm home for good now.
After years of mostly ending up on the "liberal" side of things, I'm tending right a little over this illegal immigration issue and I'm becoming more jaded about our Congress. I have to fight feeling hopeless about our country.

I got like 75 freakin channels. Do four corporations really own them all? Even that one that begs me for money?

I am guessing you mean in the United States. But even than I do not think that your numbers are right. Please provide links to the 4 owners of the below major Television stations:
FOX
CNN
ABC
CBS
NBC
BBC
Al-jazeera

Well the BBC is a public corporation. It's paid for in part by the TV License anyone owning a television in the UK has to pay. It has a charter and is regulated by the BBC Trust. Although it's programming may be bought from outside sources those are still covered by the Charter.
So basically, whoever those four owners are, they don't own the BBC. I didn't realise the BBC had a significant viewership in the States.

BBC and Al-Jazeera don't have huge viewership in the US, but he forgot to mention US in his question.
As for BBC, it's a good choice for news in my opinion. I don't watch it much, but I do check the website for news every few days.
Yeah, I tend to make it my first port of call for the news before I look elsewhere. They have good coverage and tend to be relatively unbiased. They're not above biased reporting but they're pretty good a lot of the time.
