The correct answer was/is "true". Surprising I know, but such is the state of our politically correct gun control society that they found military basses an easy target for gun control and turned them into "gun-free zones". Even soldiers living on base are not allowed to have any personal guns in their homes. They must be turned in and stored/locked-up in the base armory. Only police, MPs, and Federal Agents can legally posses a loaded weapon on bass. The only time the soldiers are allowed to have weapons is when they are issued for training, and then they can only get ammo while at and on the range. US militarily basses are required to be defenseless to any mad man who decides to come on base with a gun.
