For nearly all Muslins loyalty to their country takes priority over their loyalty to their religion.

Do you mean "loyalty to their ancient and historic country" or "Loyalty to the new borders drawn by Westerners in the past 100 to 150 years?"
Y'know, this is in many ways just like what happened in Africa, and North America. The west came in, drew lines to suit THEIR needs, and ignored the ancient cultural and language boundaries that had developed over millenia of LOCAL concerns working themselves out. And then we are all surprised and stuff that they don't see OUR boundaries as relevant.
So, no answer to my question? Do you mean loyalty to their cultural country, or loyalty to the boundaries imposed on them by the West over the last 100 to 150 years?
If the question is adressed to me I mean loyalty towards a country that they have chosen to become citizens of. If they or their children find that impossible their only honourable course is to seek to move to a country that they approve of.
Over a hundred years ago one quarter - a staggering proportion - of Swedes emmigrated to the United States. A few found they could not wholeheartedly embrace America. The vast majority, and their decendants were and are true Americans.
I am more loyal to my country than I am to my religion. I also place my family above either.

I'm sorry... I didn't understand that at all, peterf. but you know, uuhhh... never mind! (:
It seems that not many Muslims here feel loyalty towards - or even much liking for - Sweden.

Their religious teachings (Koran) will be the ultimate problem for that culture (and us).
I agree with you BlackOrchid.
I think most Catholics are loyal to their religion.
