Mixed Economies - Capitalistic societies of the West combine capitalism with government regulation and social safety nets.
I want "classic unrestrained capitalism."

Feudalism had oaths of fealty running both up and down the social ladder. Unrestrained capitalism has no such constraints.

I wouldn't call the US a "mixed economy". More the Scandinavian countries. Or, to a lesser extent, New Zealand.

What would you call the U.S. then?

If it's not mixed why are so many unwed mothers on welfare?

I agree it can't be called pure capitalism, with all the agricultural subsidies and tariffs (welfare for farmers). But Sweden it ain't.

Slightly adulterated capitalism? Capitalism (may contain some additional ingredients)?

Isn't it nice being able to make things up as we go along? :)
