Quite right. One to be compared to the Great Depression of the 1930s. Which was only ended by the start of WWII in 1939.

Or the Long depression of 1873-1896.

(Didn't Roosevelt's policies help a lot too?)

You´re right. That is. If there is a general mood of depression (not only the economic one), everything is going to be worse. The only we have to do is to trust (because there is a general lack of trustworthiness now)...and not to think about depression/recession (or even about the world war wich is necessarily comming, as some people have already written).

Volvo and Saab - and a lot of companies who supply them with parts - are about to disappear. Try telling their workers to "cheer up".

You will probably be OK in Norway with all that oil and your sovereign wealth fund. But Welfare Sweden is due to implode.

Short answer to your question: No. They and Alliansen partners are scared of losing the votes of the welfare addicted populace.

Bugger our consideration of debt. Debt is the largest illusion we can be putting up with. Illusions of cash has been part of our dreams for rather too long.
