I thought Jesus was a Jewish.

Yes, but other Jews, killed him.

Coming from Austria I find this comment particularly distressing.

Why? You think I am a nazi, just because I am from Austria, like Hitler?

We came from Austria (uh, partly), so of COURSE Austrians don't have anything to do with Hitler. That'd kinda be like blaming Connecticut for GW Bush. We prefer to blame Texas. (lol) But only those who are reaching for reasons to hate Jews would blame Jews for Jesus' death. Personally, I blame conservatives. They never like people who talk about love, peace and being kind to those who have less than you. Those are liberal philosophies.

No, I don't think you are a Nazi. Just that you should be particularly careful not to come across as anti-semitic.

Hitler, an Austrian, did not create anti-semitism. He built on pre-existintg hatred of Jews. In Austria as in Germany.

To their credit the Germans have recognised their terrible guilt and have worked to comes to terms with. On the other hand Austria, which had as great or greater proportion of dedicated Nazis, falsly pretends to have been an innocent little victim. I am disgusted by Mabie's comment.

If the Jews are bad for killing Jesus, I guess Americans are bad for killing MLK. He may not be the founder of a religion, but I think you get my point. Also, John Stewart is Jewish. You gotta like John Stewart!

He was making a COMPARISON! (lmao) Didn't you read the entire comment?

Just like not all Jews participated in the killing of Jesus. Get it?

Jesus Christ ;)

Do you think Christians are bad because they slaughtered Native Americans?

I bet there is not one Jew living today who participated in the frame-up of Christ to the Romans.

Nor Christians who slaughtered Native Americans ...

Exactly my point. So, should the living be blamed for what the dead did back then?(Although the Old Testament DOES say ...unto the seventh generation--maybe the Christians SHOULD still be blamed, although I personally find it too draconian)

No dauguy. But I think that the former Europeans, that are the present Americans were to blame, butcher at which the native one American.

Please excuse spelling mistakes; I have used a translation program.

The Roman State killed Jesus, he was set up by a few high minded officials within his community for his "radical" statements. Like the fact that Jesus was a descendant of King David (via his father Joseph) and the high priest Aaron (via his father) he was a legitimate contender to the throne of Israel. The Romans were horrible occupiers and oppressed the Jewish people, who constantly fought against the State. Crucifixion was for crimes against the empire, not simply speaking out against a "minority" religion in the empire. His ancestry, status as a teacher, his political standings and leadership in his community made him a threat to the powers that be of his faith and Augustus Caesar's hold on the important international crossroad of Palestine.

Yeah. You're right. I had him over to dinner last night. Asked him about what was going on in the middle east. He didn't have much to say.

Sin did not nail him to the cross. Human Beings did. The act of crucifixion should not be minimized. It was a tool of terror to suppress the population. It bothers me that after 2,000 years people are still minimizing the MAN named Jesus.

Not the man - his modern day followers. They carry his cross before them not out of respect, but to push others around.

Oh... they didn't kill him? So he wasn't resurrected then? He's just still alive?

Certainly the particular Jews responsible for his death were "bad." Does that make ALL Jews bad? No.

OK, sorry didn't get your sarcasm. ^_^

the jews that crucified him weren't bad. Would you kill someone who was about to wipe out the christian religion because people started beleiving that one you die the rolling stones will bring into a airplane and you will live forever on that airplane. Would you kill, or stop that man. Maybe make it a gruesome killing so no one makes up a religion again. me being christian i would to save my religion, so you can't say the jews that made the romans kill jesus were bad. They were just doing what many people today are doing.

No, I wouldn't kill someone who was about to wipe out the Christian religion. That is not my prerogative. I don't have the right to murder people in a gruesome manner to "save" my religion, nor do you, nor did they.

u r all idiots jesus was killed because he was a threat to the romans. he was encouraging people to join jewdiasm and the romans and the jews didnt like that so they killed him and jews dont think he is the messiah b/c he doesnt have the same characteristics as the jewish bible says he will have

and the jews werent bad. jesus was just destroing their religion. also the jews that killed him werent bad b/c if they accepted jesus then the romans would kill all the jews

This guy makes perfect sense, even for an american. Also i am from canada WTF IS UP WITH AMERICAN FLAG

wow im probably the youngest here and i know better. The Jews did not kill Jesus. THE ROMANS DID. get that straight.

They killed Jesus that is why they don't have peace in their country, unless they change their faith to Christianity.

Jews don't have their own country. Yo ignant self don't know that. You however seem not to like the jewish religion. and i gurantee you that every reason you make twords jewish people being bad, whatever religion you belong to have done it to. You can't make a judgment upon entire other religion/race/ethnicity/nationality because not everyone is the same. I am not saying you are a terrible person for believing this i just think your comment is exageratted like many other people in the world exaggerate things. Also Saying the jews are bad for killing Jesus is like saying Americans are bad for killing osama bin laden. Osama was just doing what he thought God wanted him to do. Just like Jesus. also Many different people from different religions, including followers of jesus(look that up) shouted to crucify jesus. SO NOT ALL JEWS ARE GOOD, BUT NOT ALL JEWISH PEOPLE ARE BAD. JUST LIKE NOT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE GOOD, BUT THEY ARE NOT ALL BAD. CHANGING RELIGION WON"T CANGE ANYONE. IF RELIGION DIDN'T EXIST THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE

If religion never existed this wouldn't have happened, over ten thousand wars wouldn't have happened, and no genocides would happen. You can't say jewws are bad or good because they aren't one person. If their were only two jews and they were both bad people then ya you could make that judgment but if their are millions of jews then you cannot make that statement. Also my uncle was murdered in 1941 by the nazis somewhere in southern austria south of Veinna. He wasn't jewish he was living there and was killed because he had cerebral palsy. I AM CATHOLIC BTW
