Do you think, that nazi Germany was able to win second World War? Ask a Question

I don't like the idea of it, but if the Hitler nut would have listened better to his advisers, most of the world would be speaking German now.

*shudder*

Too true.

what language is easier to learn? english or german?

I've taken so many German courses, I was waking up in the middle of the night hollering Actung, or Guten Tag or Wie Gehts or auf wiedersehen or something. (Only kidding) But German was hard. Masc, Fem and Neutral nouns is sometimes very confusing. I still have problems. I took German here in Germany for my college degree and my teacher was from Arkansas. You would have busted a gut listening to him talk German with the Arkansas accent. But those were the courses that put me over the problem barrier. What was also screwed up is when I moved up here from southern to central Germany , the difference between the Schwäbish and the Pfalzish dialect also kicked fanny and gave me a head ache. When I go to Austria or Munich, or Hamburg, because of the dialects, it's like being in another country. I don't feel bad though, my German-born wife has problems with the dialects too.

If the U.S. didn't come in like they always seem to do, then yes, they would have won.

Nah, USSR still would've run over them. The supplies that were sent by US really didn't help that much to win the war on the Eastern front, and in the end the Atlantic Wall would've just been replaced with the Iron Curtain (all of continental Europe would've been behind it).

Shutting down research on the jet engine for a couple years had much more impact on the German loss.

i think that hitlers army was able to win - but attacking the USSR was a great mistake

Hitler screwed up. First, he attacked Russia shortly before winter started, Second; he didn't convince the Japanese to delay their mistake with the US and help with Russia. If those two things were changed, It could well have turned out different

The US did not "come in" they were attacked by Japan and Hitler declared war on the US - so in fact they were dragged in.

Lol XD XD XD

There were various missed opportunities for both sides in the war.

If France had invaded Germany while the German army was in Poland they may have taken enough ground before the Germans could redeploy to force an early end.

If Germany had won the battle of Britian, it would have been harder to have the D-Day landings without a near by port to sail from and airbases to provide cover.

If german scientists had not deliberately slowed down a-bomb research.

If Germany had not declared war on USA.

If The invasion of Russia had gone with the original plan and taken Moscow and captured Russian factories before they had been moved behind the Urals.

More What Ifs than actual battles if you want to go that way :)

Hitler made many mistakes. His biggest was declaring war on the USA. This mad act sealed his fate.

you mean Russia right?

No I mean the US. Hitler declared war on the US a few days after Pearl Harbour.

I m not sure invading the USSR would have such a big mistake if the Germans had stopped advancing after a month or two and consolidated their gaains.

they came close to Moscow about 30km to to it. And they where pushed back. Hitler tried the same blitzkrieg strategy that worked so good against the rest of Europe, but he soon found out that Russia had no road infrastructure and they often found their vehicles stuck in the mud. Hitler gained ground first because he signed a non aggression pact with Stalin, and Stalin could not believe that the Germans where amassing troops near his border when all the evidence suggested it.

The Americans fought most of WWII in the pacific. they only send troops to Europe much later, when the Russians where already pushing back the Germans. In fact more Germans died on the east frnot than on all the others.

"The Allies opened a Western Front in June 1944 at Normandy, a year and a half after the Soviets turned the tide on the Eastern Front"

From what I can remember from second year history... His biggest was declaring war on Russia.

I agree with you

I think they could have won if they consolidated their position in western Europe before attacking Russia. But even then it would have been difficult for them.

I also think that if Hitler would have acquired nuclear weapons(an he was close to doing so) then the would have wiped Russia from the face of the earth.

They have? xD

You mean, they had, did'nt you?
