Of course. They do now.
No reason they cant except for a common language.
Yes. Too often it is hatred, but I hold out hope that someday we will teach something else.
They do now, at least until their parents, relatives or television comes into play.
They would if we'd quit talking about 'black children' and 'white children' and 'integration' of the races. Damn. Just let the kids be kids. And if they ask why some are white and some are black - pull down the map and talk about evolution and ancestry. Oops. That won't work, will it? Forgot about the ID thingie ...
I guess you could always tell them about how God left some children in the oven too long, and took some children out too soon. ;o)
And the creationism thingie...:-(
Its like that old song from South Pacific:
You've got to be taught
To hate and fear
You've got to be taught
From year to Year
It's got to be drummed
in your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be taught
To be Afraid
Of people whose eyes
are oddly made
And people whose skin
Is a different shade
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be taught
Before it's too late
Before you are 6 or 7 or 8
To hate all the people
your relatives hate
You've got to be carefully taught
Thank you, Lt. Cable. (p.s. I love that song)
My favorite musical, taken from the most humanist of authors...
Its all up to how they are raised. You are not born being racist you learn it!
That is part and so is the area of the world and peer pressure.
I'm right there with you.
