I agree with part of it. Not so much on the examples you use. I don't agree with the "kids before marriage" part. I think it would better termed "teenage pregnancy". Marriage is a religious doctrine and religion has no place in school. "Dress Code" is an interpretive, subject to many opinions, not just the principal. He/she should definitely set a good example, but should not have the ability to set the standards based on his/her own personal beliefs. That is up to the family and community to determine. It's a tough job to be a teacher or a principal, but the overall school community and parents should take on the responsibilty of the standards by which the school is run in the social sense. The PTA at a school is probably the best place to start forming a "group conscious" to set the rules for social conduct in the schools as opposed to one person.
