Is this your way of reasoning with people of a different faith,Thekure? Your insults and choice of words reflects your level of education and morals. Next time you want to point a finger on us, at least type "pedophile" right. If what you accuse the Prophet of Islam is true, for argument's sake, then how come it's the Christian churches around the world that are infected with pedophilia (generally speaking)? Just google this today in the news and see for yourself: sex abuse priest. Yet it seems to me that more church goers today are busy blaming the Prophet of Islam for their own internal sexual problems! And finally, your attempt to turn this inquiry into an ugly exchange of insults is not working. It only goes to show how disturbed you are that Islam is the fastest growing religion in your own country of Norway. Yeah, I hear you and I can hear your pain, man! Good luck!

Well, you don't seem to get it. If what you accused our Prophet is true, child sex abuse would have been our tradmark all over the world because we are his followers and if he did it we would have done the same. And yet look at who is #1 in doing that: the very same people who filled your head with lies against Muhammad (peace be upon him).
It is my contention that while some Christians religions are somewhat intolerant their intolerance pales in comparison to the Muslim religion. I am not trying to say that any form of Christianity practiced today is perfect, but I dont see the violence that may even be in the bible being acted out in real everyday life and supported by any notable church.
Pastafarianism is the fastest growing world religion.
We believe the world was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster while very very drunk about 4000 years ago. All the evidence for older Earth scientists find is not true, since as the scientists take their measurements, the FSM is there, changing the results with His noodly appendage. The universe was created in just 4 days, and FSM rested on the other three: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uvF-RQsB…
Since the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a merciful and just deity, He sees all beliefs and all people as equal, and everyone will get to heaven, which has beer volcanoes and a stripper factory.
Also, pirates are FSM's holy people, and they were not like the sea robbers of today, but valiant explorers, givers of candy to children and really good men. The media controlled by rival churches has ruined their reputation. Pirates are the only thing which stands between us and global warming, and the direct correlation can be clearly seen on the graph: http://www.google.com/trends?q=pirates%2…
The "parody" status of our religion only refers to the creator deity having a sense of humor, as is evident if you look at the universe around you. It's a kind of test of faith which people who see Pastafarianism as "parody" fail. We truly believe, despite what FSM-haters may say.
May you be touched by His noodly appendage! Ramen!
"After surviving a terrorist attack in Mumbai, India, 10 months ago, when armed men targeted westerners in two five-star hotels, Greenville resident Dennis O'Brien did not turn to hate.
Instead, he sought to understand the root faith the people behind the attacks claimed to practice and discovered it had been twisted by the gunmen. Eventually, he came to embrace it.
If a Muslim consciously and without coercion declares their rejection of Islam and does not change their mind after the time given to him/her by a judge for research, then the penalty for male apostates is death, and for women, life imprisonment. -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostasy#In_Islam
In addition to the Jewish tradition inherited through the Old Testament, Christian governments, sometimes with the approval of the Church, have punished both apostates and heretics individually and in campaigns such as the Inquisition and the Albigensian Crusade. The Byzantine Emperor Justinian I instituted the punishment of death for apostasy in the very first law of the Corpus Juris Civilis (Body of Civil Law), his code that formed a basis for several European countries' laws for many centuries.
Catharism was a name given to a radical and anarchistic quasi-Christian religious sect with dualistic and gnostic elements that appeared in the Languedoc region of France in the 11th century and flourished in the 12th and 13th centuries. The Catholic Church regarded the sect as dangerously heretical and in 1208 AD, the Pope urged the local Christian governments to a crusade known as the Albigensian Crusade against the Cathars. Because the Cathars were also anarchists, they were also enemies of the state. In the ensuing 20-year military campaign, thousands of apostates were executed including 7000 residents of a town called Beziers, who were locked and burnt in one of their meetinghouses. According to historians, a horrified onlooker rushed to the papal gates and reminded the crusaders that some Catholic Christians were still trapped in the meetinghouse together with the Cathars. The officer overseeing the massacre then made the well-known remark: “Kill them all. God will know his own”
As you pointed out...that was the 12th and 13th century. Yes, I know that was not the only point and case of this type of thing happening and many people will point to the crusades as well, bla, bla, bla, but TODAY, when I go to church, I am not taught to kill non-Christians. My children are not taught to kill non-Christians in school nor are they taught that in Sunday school nor are they taught that at home. Also I don't know of any Christian organizations whose goal is to terrorize large populations of non-Christians out of pure hate for their religion. Do you not see a difference?
How about the last weeks "terror suspects" that were arrested, the feds were tipped off by an imam.
Maybe we can agree that people should be punished only for their own criminal acts, not the acts of others. And that the sins of guilty people should not be transferred to the innocent?
That Imam was also arrested.....for lying to the FBI.
Im also not saying that all Muslims are bad, I'm just saying their religion has been used for bad intentions AND to be honest, I don't see a lot of outrage from the "good" Muslims.
Can you imagine that a Muslim might see that very differently and that from their perspective they could be justified in their anger? Like Muslims, Christians are not without atrocities done in the name of their religion. But that does not make you personally a bad person, nor does it make all Muslims bad.
Just to make sure I am not misunderstood. By justified in their anger I mean justified in their ANGER, NOT justified in their ACTIONS! I abhor violence.
I do understand what your saying to some degree. But at the same time I dont know why you think the Muslims are justified in their anger. Why do they not only permit but encourage militant activism? Why do they not put effort into the betterment of their society verses doing every thing they can to bring everybody down to the stone age level? I don't hate Muslim people. I do distrust them for the most part though. I have no desire to send money to a Christian organization that promises to destroy Muslims, why do they?
I can only guess as to why people do what they do. But have you ever asked yourself "Did/do I support the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan?" If you can support those causes, then ask how yourself does that make you better/different from those people who have another name for god or have other political ideals?
Yes I have asked myself if I support the war in Afghanistan. After Sep 11th when the people who were basically in charge of Afghanistan started claiming they were responsible, it didn't take much convincing. I supported it then and I still do (even though Obama won an election on the grounds that he would pull the troops out in 6 months) But why were THEY so happy to have attacked the US? What had the US done to them before that?
I am trying to get you to understand why Muslims might want to attack the west by putting yourself in their shoes, I am not playing politics. So if you don't mind, this is my last try using your own language. Why were you and are so happy to attack Iraq and Afghanistan? Maybe when you understand that, then maybe you will understand the other side.
And when you do understand it, maybe you will be so kind as to explain it to me. To me it is all incomprehensible (all violence seems senseless)

[2 points] 2 years ago by deleted user ReplyYet can you list the counties that abide by this "command"?
How many Christian countries refuse to let women learn in school?
How many Christian countries refuse to let women teach?
How many Christian countries refuse to let women drive?
How many Christian countries insist that women cover their face?
How many Christian Countries have "honor" killings (killing their female relatives) after they have been raped?

Thats one sweet religion there....
The largest religion in the world is not much better though, from the same article -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostasy#In_Christianity

I dont know that much about Buddhism....
But I do think Christianity has moved past the kill non-believers mentality....
