Okay, guys, as much as I love you two, this is actually, I believe, a staunchly-conservative-constitutional based argument when it comes to gay marriage.
Marriage, under the law, is a legal contract. Marriage, in the eyes of the church, is a holy union blessed by God for the propagation of families. THEREFORE:
For a GOVERNMENT to tell its people what types of legal contracts they may enter into based upon their sex is WRONG. If they are both of sound mind and body and willing to accept all contractual obligations the legal agreement entails, then the government has no right to interfere.
A church, on the other hand has EVERY right to pick and choose whomever they wish to bestow the blessing of the church and Almighty God upon. And if they think gays are evil, unnatural and sinners who should be stoned to death, that's fine. But the government banning gay marriage under the law is pretty much as liberal as it gets. That's the government sticking their nose into the most basic part of a human being's right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Stepping off of soap box. Okay, come kick my ass ... ;)

I voted NO but ONLY because I believe they should be able to have a "Civil Union Ceremony" ... and ... I believe the term marriage should be reserved for a man and a woman. Marriage has very SPECIFIC religious connotations.
Gays and lesbians should be allowed to have all of the legal rights and privileges of a married couple.

Homosexual marriages are legal in parts of Canada. In Vancouver it has been great for tourism. Many gay Americans are coming here to hitch. Personally, I couldn't care less if they do or don't.
The biggest problem we have in getting people, especially younger ones, to understand why marriage is devalued by the existence of a counterfeit is that much of the public does not value marriage at all. Adultery is no big deal. No- fault divorce is tolerated. Absentee fathers and mothers devalue marriage. Unmarried pregnancies are common. Fornication is "normal." When we make the case against homosexual marriage, we need to speak against these other problems that devalue marriage too. As we acknowledge these problems we can emphasize that legalizing homosexual marriage will compound the problems, not solve or lessen them.

I'll buy that. Call it a civil union though.
I've never heard it said like that before (replying to sillynilly)... awesome.
Oh and to answer the poll, yes.
"And if they think gays are evil, unnatural and sinners who should be stoned to death, that's fine."

Think how deep those rights go--social security, insurance, work related spousal's benefits--wow, talk about opening a can of whoop ass!!
Sounds reasonable.
I'm married homosexual living in the USA, and yes I think so, if they so decide to.
Only in states where cousins are allowed to get married.
