Not a bad idea in theory. It would tend to do away with questions that have built-in assumptions, but what would keep members from marking inappropriate just because they don't like the question even if it is presented without bias?
Just because one might not support Israel in their blunt attempt to exterminate Hamas does not mean that one supports Hamas.
How about all of the innocent civilians being slaughtered? I agree with ask001, I support a peaceful resolution.
It's despicable of Hamas to hide among civilians, but it's also despicable of Israel to disregard the fact that civilians are there as they kill dozens to get a few members of Hamas.
from your comment it seems you doesn't really know why Israel army is doing what it has to do, so in a short description: Hamas bombed Israel for the last 8 years while Israel tried to talk it over but it doesn't work... they (Hamas) kept bombing Israel.. I suggest that all of you who support Hamas just watch this short movie that explain why Israel is doing what it has to do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5eKXOBf5_w&eurl=http://www.facebook.com/home.php?&feature=player_embedded
No what happened is the Jewish people wanted a state and decided to pick Palestine to found it. The people who lived there were forced out of their homes. What Israel NEEDS to do is to abide by the UN resolutions!
yep. I didn't mean you all repliers but all of those who vote to Hamas... and I'm surly would prefer peace and not violent actions from both sides! but Hamas just doesn't stop bombing Israel no matter what, so it's time to end it once and for all! and here is another video that presents what's going on in Israel for the last 8 years http://sderot.aish.com/SderotPetitions/15Seconds.php
It may come as a surprise to you, but not all Gazans are members of Hamas. How about you keep the ad-hominem attacks to yourself before you make people think that you have nothing valid to contribute.
I was talking about innocent civilians in Gaza being killed. In that same message I mentioned how it was despicable of Hamas to hide among civilians. I'm not absolving Hamas of responsibility here but the subject of the comment was innocent civilians. So unless you are under the impression that all Gazans are members of Hamas your "Hey twoface" post is irrelevant to my previous message.
Look at coolooloo's style of response? See how his responses are actually relevant to the comment he is responding to? That's how it works.
To make it clearer for you:
- I do not support Hamas
- I think it is unacceptable for Hamas or anyone to be firing rockets into Israel
- At the same time I do not approve of wanton destruction and killing of civilians in order to get to Hamas
about Palestinians civilians getting killed..it's not Israel army responsibility but Hamas's.. they (Hamas) are shooting rockets from among civilians locations such as schools and hospitals, they use the civilians as a human shield and in order to get them there are some civilians that getting hurt because of the Hamas's inhuman actions.
Your implication here seems to be that Israel is killing many civilian to get only a couple of Hamas members. This is not shown out in the Stats on Civilian Deaths in this conflict. The Highest Civilian death % estimate I have seen is around 25%. That would mean they killed a 9 Hamas for every 3 civilians. This may still be unacceptable to you, I am not going to argue that. But your implication was wrong.
In general terms I would tend to support a sovereign nation over a terrorist organisation.
When you add that this particular terrorist organisation has stated its main aim is to destroy that sovereign nation, and is then hypocritical enough to enter into negotiations with those they wish to commit genocide on, the choice becomes even clearer.
No sane person would want to see civilian casualties, or even military ones if that was possible, but just as you can't makes ommlettes without breaking eggs, neither can you stand for provocation and death without reaction either.
Perhaps people will think twice before electing a similar bunch of cowardly cretins in the future? - but probably not.
Neither! I support the people who are trying to get to a peaceful resolution.
Well said.

[1 point] 3 years ago by deleted user ReplyI don't think there was an implicit accusation in the question, just a failure of imagination. Two-value, either/or logic is, alas, the norm.
I would think an Israeli would be even less likely to realize that there are people who support neither side, for example.

Remember Hanolon's Razor: "Never attribute to malice what an adequately be explained by ignorance." Or stupidity, if you prefer.

Let's ignore the 3000+ years of Jewish history in the area.
Lets ignore that the US was founded the same way....
And the US would obliterate the Indians if they started firing rockets at us from their reservations.
"I suggest that all of you who support Hamas"
*Ahem!* Did you read the comments above you?

Sounds like you have the "final solution"
no, you miss understood: Israel is doing her best not to fall into another "final solution" of a different hater - the Hamas.
