Yeah. I thought that the US was more anti smoking. I bumped into a chap from califonia recently. He said that smoking is considered close to a crime there
I smoked cigarettes for over 50 years and based on today's prices and daily smokes it had cost me over $120,000. I didn't quit because of cost but boy I could drive a great car with that money today!

I'm surprised looking at the map that there are more smokers per capita in America than in Europe -- I would have thought the opposite.

Yes, I live in Los Angeles myself and we're not too tolerant of smoking or smokers!
There are a lot of social smokers out there that will answer no to this question.
