Depends on the time of year. I was there a couple of summers ago and it was so hot you could hardly move. Plus, we had to feed the A/C with euros, one per hour. I was wondering about the coast the other day. When I was there I read there were >800,000 Brits living there, but the U.K. took away health insurance for those who lived out of the country, so I wonder if it's deserted now, or if it made much difference. One thing I really remember is that I rented a diesel car and it was smooth and very quiet and got I'm estimating over 50 mpg. I filled it twice in two weeks.

True. Early spring - say March - is great.
