It was in my school days, there is still plenty of time to make your own decisions after that schooling.

....so basically you are asking if science should be taught in schools?

Basically, yeah thats about it.

I believe creation should be taught in schools! if embeciles want to believe they came from a monkey so be it, but at least give both sides!

No Scientist believes that Man evolved from Monkeys. Both Man and the Great Primates evolved from a common ancestor a very long time ago. To continue to repeat this fallacy of science is simply inflammatory language used by non-scientists to confuse and debase the debate.

Teaching theories as facts in science is wrong. If you are going to teach things you can't prove in science then you should teach creation along with it.

Science isn't about proving anything correct! Please take the time to read Karl Popper's work on Falsifiability. Science proposes Theories to explain Laws and tests Theories to try and prove them WRONG. If a Theory can be tested and cannot be proven wrong, then it is accepted as the most likely explanation for the observed Law until someone else comes along with a better explanation.

A theory is not an eternal or perpetual truth. Teaching a theory as such without teaching other things you cannot prove is not science. Study the scientific method. Creation has as much scientific credibility as evolution does.

Sigh. Me thinks thou doth protest too much. Please reread my comment above as you missed every point made. I don't need to study the scientific method as I practice it daily as a degreed scientist.

Wow, I am ignorant. Impressive. The statements I stated in reference to the scientific method are straight from it. I have studied and taught it and am degreed also. My conclusions are my opinions and do not make me ignorant. It makes you intolerant of any opinion but your own.

Ignorance of how science works is rampant. Evolution is not a theory. Evolution is a Law of Science just as Gravity is a Law. A Law is defined as observed phenomenon of the Universe that follows mathematical constraints and can be modeled mathematically. Darwin's Theory of Natural Selection is one proposal to explain how this Law works. Those who debate the merits of Evolution are really discussing Darwin's proposal to explain Evolution. His Theory is one of the most tested Theories in all of science and it has never been proven wrong. This doesn't mean that it is correct, rather it means that, so far, it has held up extremely well to experiment. It is quite possible that, sometime in the future, some other genius will think of an explanation of the Law of Evolution that is simpler and more complete that Darwin's, just like Einstein proposed a Theory that replaced Newton's as the most accepted idea for the observed phenomenon of Gravity. The whole Natural Selection/Intelligent Design debate is over which proposal to explain the Law of Evolution is most complete. However, because Intelligent Design is not testable, it is not a valid Scientific Theory.

from the dictionary "–noun, plural -ries.

1. a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena: Einstein's theory of relativity.

2. a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact.

3. Mathematics. a body of principles, theorems, or the like, belonging to one subject: number theory.

4. the branch of a science or art that deals with its principles or methods, as distinguished from its practice: music theory.

5. a particular conception or view of something to be done or of the method of doing it; a system of rules or principles.

6. contemplation or speculation.

7. guess or conjecture."

now waugs, especially read 6 and 7....does that mean anything to you? a theory is an idea...my idea is that some here are as full of stuffing as a thanksgiving turkey...prove me wrong LOL
