Not where I live.

Yeah, the question should probably "Should people have the right to end their life?" instead.

Yep. I would have answered differently then, especially if the question read, "Under certain circumstances should people have the right to end their own life?"

One example might be if they are on the top floor of a burning skyscaper. Death is enevitable. Should they have the right to kill themselves by jumping? I say "yes."

Likewise, if they are terminally ill with cancer and have two months to live, a death sentence as sure as being on the 100th floor of a burning building. Should they have the right to kill themselves with a drug overdose? Again, I say "yes."

Afterall, is there any difference between death from burning and death from cancer?

Not in America, no. "Should they" is another question.

Really, we should be spending more effort on changing people's lives and helping them in other ways than giving them the right to end themselves.

I am amazed that anyone could even contemplate voting 'no'.

That's because Sweden is much more socially progressive than the US, unfortunately. It's hard to understand... We are okay with the death penalty, but not with letting people have the right to decide their own end. We just do things our own way. That's why we will never use the metric system, etc, etc, etc. But I digress...

Not if you ar a christian, it is a mortal sin :(

If not, you have to wonder why it is called 'their' life, don't you?
