If I could believe my catechism instructors, that God loves me more than my own parents, I could totally believe in God. However, since the most popular monotheistic god would have me burn in hell for eternity if I did not believe there was sufficient evidence to believe all the hype popular religions proffer, it is hard to answer this question, especially so since I came from a loving family who would CERTAINLY NOT condemn me to hell FOREVER just because I doubted something for which they could not give me any substantial proof as justification for their beliefs. It is very hard to believe a totally loving *supreme* being would play games with people and try to force them to believe tales 2,000 years old (and older) and use a threat of eternal torture to help influence their beliefs. Something is very wrong with this picture.

You certainly have some bad info about the character of both God and Love. God would certainly NOT condemn you or anyone else to Hell forever just because you doubted something that lacked any substantial proof as justification for their beliefs about God.
I'm not surprised. Christianity is meant to be demonstrated more then explained. People that have not experienced a Christian life, well and joyously lived have a hard time accepting the explanations. Even those that have only accepted the explanation have a hard time finding the joy.

So the YouTube SuperFlyNinjaGuy posted is inaccurate?
And James Joyce did a disservice to "The Word" when he painted the glummest possible picture of the torments of hell in "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man"?
I looked at the video again and it struck me that too many Atheists don't believe in Evolution. Before you scoff, let me explain. If everything evolves and changes over time, that should include Christians. That would include our understanding of God's word, the nature of God and our understanding of our purpose in the world. The video quoted 13th century theology, as if we could neither evolve or change, It's like me claiming that American Science is silly because famous American scientists proclaimed that man would never fly a heavier than air craft. The argument alone betrays a lack of belief in evolution. No wonder many Christians question the brainpower of Atheists.

The only question asked more often than this is about 2012.
He used to occasionally comment here, but I haven't seen a single word from him since I've been back. Has anyone seen him lately?
No, I was just moping over that the other day. He was so NICE to me! I miss him!
He did like you most, I think. *snorts in disgust* You were God's pet. (lol)
Well, sheep sit on the right hand of God, and goatsies on the left...it sez so on Facebook.

It must be the flock thing. ;)
I don't know if Oyu believes in God or not, but he certainly is trying hard to touch him.

Oh my, that is it. Yep.
Cool. :)
Excellent. And I just realized why they don't understand their own hypocrisy. *sigh*
