No, they demand to be treated equally under the law, as any tax-payer should.

Exactly.

Absolutely.

Precisely

Rick it is me...daisy. How are you?

Hey Daisy -- Great to see you here! I've heard about Political Forum and may check it out. I'm also in contact with Hellgate and he is checking out some sites as well. Flounder also sent me a note about another site, but I left the details at my other residence. I'll send you the details when I am back there. I like your new avatar -- great owl pic!

Rick, BD is back up. Not like it was before but it is back.

Look for Buzzdashers reunited in the social groups that is where some landed. In political forums that is.

I took the picture of the owl, he was gorgeous. He let me get pretty close to him before he took off. Thank you for noticing.

Lol gender divide on this question. Gay people are demanding the same treatment as straight people to conduct their lives in the manner they see fit. If those rights require more protection because more people violate them... who's to blame? The gays?!? I don't think so. Perhaps those who point the finger need to point it at themselves.

I sometimes wonder if people should extend the same courtesy to you as you show your fellow human beings.

April - Just because someone doesn't like a certain group of people does not give them the right to mistreat that group, or to deny them equality.

And some believe that those who harbor the ugly bigotry you expressed are, in fact, quite deviant. There is basis for this. After all, the majority are not bigots -- so you are therefore deviant.

Those who are being discriminated against are always vocal in a free society.

Those who wish to take freedom from others utilize the law and pressure to silence their voices.

As one of our founding fathers -- the brilliant Thomas Jefferson -- said, "a little rebellion every now and then is necessary". He also noted that those who are denied their rights will need to speak up and act as necessary to secure them.

No, there are normal humans, like everyone else.

First of all these are two questions... But to answer them, no I do not think gay people demand any "special" rights, they just claim the same right as everyone else to live and love and not be discriminated.

Just as with any minority group gays run the risk of becoming the victim of the majority, because of prejudices held by that majority and because sometimes the interests of a majority can be opposed to that of a minority.

You then ask if gays demand extra attention? I am not sure in what way you mean this. There are some very extraverted gay individuals that claim a lot of attention but those are not representative. On the other hand when gay people are suppressed, like they are in places like the US and there is a level of free speach, as there is in the US, it is very understandable that some of them will speak out and seek attention for the situation they are in.

Demanding equal treatment isn't demanding special treatment. It is only designated such by those who are oppressors.

Well said. Great observation.

This question is constructed poorly.

I think most of the "Yes" voters are afraid of the Gang of Twelve.
