Amtrak's Pacific surf liner seems to be going well to me, it has service almost every hour between San Diego and L.A.
If you are traveling by Amtrak, the rule is to add 12 hours onto your trip. I travel them anyway 'cause it is a great way to travel.
Problem for Amtrak is they only lease the lines, they don't own them.
Well it take me only about 1:30 to get from San Diego to Orange County, driving is about 1:10 going to the same place...
How about some of the war money to the problems in the US?

bush and the gop cut that highway budget to the bone! in 8 years they've spent 1/10th the amount they spent on iraq.
and 1/10 the amount they spent on debt service to wealthy treasury bond holders, such as bush himself.
