I know that it is widely accepted they have them even if they wont officially admit it. I don't think they would launch them in a preemptive attack but we all know it is not a nation that is shy to retaliate to aggression - I prefer to believe no one out there is stupid enough to start that, because the alternative for the populace is too horrible to contemplate. That's a bloody good question and I don't think there is any good answer. There are many explanations, but none of them are fair - it's political bullshit.
Let's see, because they don't want to alienate Jews in their own countries who might not vote for them, because they can sell weapons and stuff to Israel, because they like having an ally of sorts in the Middle East....I don't know.

it's so clear that if Israel Stops killing Palestinians and stops destroying their houses they will stop attacking too! imagine if someone wants to destroy your house and take ur land..what will you do? won't u try to stop them?
Israel really needs to move the settlers out completely...that is terribly wrong, and it will at least show they are committed to a real effort for peace.
The only way the tit-for-tat killing will stop is if both sides agree to stop. Both sides are guilty of killing innocents. A line needs to be drawn under the past if they want to move forward; saying "you did this so we'll do that" is perpetuating the hostilities.

I thought the Israeli settlers in Palestine were more or less attempting to take this land from Palestine and make it Israeli lands. Is this not true? If it is, then the settlers should leave Palestinian lands immediately. If they are SEEKING to live in Palestine and under Palestinian rule - then it is up to Palestine whether or not they can remain.
The official policy seems to change with the government changes they often seem to have.
The hardliners tnd to support the settlements, the ones who lean towards reconcilliation tend to oppose the settlements, even going so far as to evict Israelis and demolish the settlements.

I can refer you to some very hefty 1940's USA government documents that detail how the displacement of the Palestineans was entirely engineered by the USA and England, and England was actually against the idea until the USA convinced them to go along with the plan. These government documents are not discussed very often these days because people like to think the Palestineans are the bad guys but they are not. The Nazis were the bad guys and few even mention them in modern day discussions of "problems" in the Middle East. The Palestineans are being made the scapegoats instead and without any reason that holds water under scrutiny.

I can only imagine the media in our 2 countries are very different in their attitude.

There was no Hezbollah in 1967 or 1973, that is where Israel could have easily capturd all of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria in particular. That they withdrew shows that they were not after Arab land, just enough room to defend themselves.
They kept the Golan so Syria could not set up artillery on high ground to bombard them again.
The kept the Sinai for a while until they made peace with Egypt, and they kept the West Bank as they considered it a traditional part of Israel anyway, which was probably their one mistake.
Just look at history, the Arab nations were the agressors, not Israel, who only want to be left alone.

No one will attack your people. That would be playing into the hands of the evil leaders and clerics. They want you attacked, so you can all get mad at America/Israel/whoever instead of attacking them for messing up your country.

Israel has been attacked many times, and always defeatd the attackers, even when 3 or more countries gang up on it.

There was no Hezbollah in 1967 or 1973, that is where Israel could have easily capturd all of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria in particular. That they withdrew shows that they were not after Arab land, just enough room to defend themselves.
They kept the Golan so Syria could not set up artillery on high ground to bombard them again.
The kept the Sinai for a while until they made peace with Egypt, and they kept the West Bank as they considered it a traditional part of Israel anyway, which was probably their one mistake.
Just look at history, the Arab nations were the agressors, not Israel, who only want to be left alone.

Your leaders actually want America to atack them. They are trying everything they can think of to make America attack first. Then they can call on the religious fanatics to whip up the people into a frenzy and focus their hatred towards the outside, which is nice to take the attention away from the internal troubles you have, like the lunatic religious police trying to stop anyone having any kind of fun, or the fasct that you are an oil producing country, but your people are all poor because your leaders take everythign and leave you nothing!

Certainly in some countries people can takl freely and openly about their government without fear of arrest, imprisonment, and tortute.
Sadly in other countries you can not, as you never know who is an informer for the secret police.
