Well, it's like hitting the 8-ring on each side of the target. You were still aiming for the 10-ring both times, but over-corrected. Or perhaps you used a shotgun with heavy shot, a wide spread, and missed him altogether-except with two bits of shot. Or perhaps you weren't trying to kill him. just cripple him for life. OR...
Note that the question says "shot" and nothing about attempted murder.
My interest was more that it pretty much explodes the hand=wringing of the Right apologists when some one is a target once once, not twice, but THREE times. (Tiller's clinic was bombed in the mid-late 1980s).

It's a very passionate topic here in the US. Right now, I can't think of another topic that people are so passionate about, not even gun rights, does God exist, or spreading democracy in Iraq.
What is with all the "pro-life" murders and attempted murders?
Look, there is a small but exceedingly powerful minority in this country that wants women to return to the "barefoot and pregnant" days when they did nothing but stay home, take orders from their husbands, and breed.
Choice on whether to bear or not is fundamental to women's freedom, along with equal pay for the same job (another fight that is still on-going here),
A week ago, a doctor who has been bombed in 1985 and shot in 1993, was murdered on his way into a CHURCH by a "Christian" "pro-life" nut.
This, in the opinion of many Americans, and according to the FBI definitions, is domestic terrorism.
It all makes sense when you look at it through the lens of control, and realize that is has NOTHING to do with true ethical behavior. Which even the eponymous founder of their religion noted.
Fundamentalist religion removes control over one's own life, and turns it over to an inarguable and unanswerable authority, which authority is ALWAYS directly wielded by a human being--pope, pastor, pundit.
The two traits which, more than any other, define domestic animals: humans control their access to food and to sex/reproduction. It would SO be to benefit of the power-hungry if we would just shut up and be good little cattle. They are sewing up the access to food as fast as they can--I mean, really, seeds that grow plants which in turn will not seed, or need special (petroleum-based!) chemicals to germinate? And fundamentalist religion is doing its very best to sew up the access to sex/reproduction.
It is little comfort to know that they have never been completely successful, now or in the past.
In nature, the Great Pyrenees is confident, gentle, and affectionate. While territorial and protective of flock or family when necessary, the general demeanor is one of quiet composure, both patient and tolerant. The Great Pyrenees is strong willed, independent and somewhat reserved, yet attentive, fearless and loyal to flock and family.
I wonder how one manage to wound a person in both his arms if the intent is to kill him.

It was probably someone who then fled to Iceland :-/
ouch!
Good one.
What the hell is with all the pro-choice propaganda lately?

It stirs up a lot of responses.
It does seem rather ironic. The pro-lifers should probably be more concerned with the lives that they are ending then those who are not alive yet.
