It provides no additional daylight time at all. Schedule shifting could accomplish the same goal without the manipulation of clocks, and do it much better.
I do believe I indicated that it was NOt that hard--for me. However, the existence of a wide-spread and commonly known mnemonic indicates that it IS that hard for a large segment of the population.

So, half the year you go to work/school at 8, and the other half you go at 9?
Yeah, that will work SO much better! No one will ever get confused by that!
So no one ever gets confused by DST? Why did they have to make up a mnemonic for it then?
I have different times to come to work depending on where in our season we are, and it is nowhere near as confusing as when we change for DST.
Really? Setting your watches/clocks/various time keepers twice a year is that hard?
Remind me to not let you fix any mechanical/electrical devices for me.

So, it's on the same level of difficulty as "righty tighty, lefty loosey"?
Yup. For me. I do know other people who have a little more trouble than that.
However, we were talking about changing show-up time being MORE difficult. I find it less.
Which is what I said above.

I think they ought to just set the damn clock ahead an hour and be done with.
Get rid of it.
It was originally done to save energy. But it probably doesn't.
