All current projections give them approximately 5 years, and assume a semi-catastrophic downturn in the fortunes of most the 'first world'. Probably India will peak first. But China will be very close behind.
The Economic Growth of India and China comes from taking care of the needs of Western Companies and consumers through manufacturing and outsourcing-When these countries are no longer dependent on this for their growth then maybe they will be super powers one day
It'd be nice if they got more involved with the 'world police' aspect. Africa is a nightmare - and China is busy trying to make them the new China. That can be scary or good, depending on how you look at it.
I'm actually all for it. They can put out the billions in foreign aid; when typhoons and earthquakes hit other countries China and India can provide rescue people and food and financial aid; also, when there are small wars or starvation in Africa, thank god we will be out of it and someone else can send over the care packages and money and troops. Time to be isolationists. But, probably too late. Cheaper for us anyway. No, I won't mind if we are out of the "trying to save the world" business, and that includes trying to force other countries to become democracies.

I do not agree with the premise. Neither China or India will become super powers in the next five years. China maybe in 15 and India maybe in 30.

Bigger industrial giants maybe but super powers, I think it will take a lot longer.

China is taking a huge roll in Africa. I think they are after Africa's natural resources.
I would agree. That's one of the reasons it can be considered a worry.
For those in high school or college, you may wish to consider learning Chinese. It will serve you well later.
