It worries me a little...but no more than Stephen Harper. But here's the thing -- do you think the GG is going to allow it? And if she does, will it cost the liberals the next election?

That's exactly what happened in the King-Byng affair :). King lost control of parliament and asked the GG to call an election. GG Byng offered Sir Arthur Meighen a chance to form the government. It failed shortly after, and King ran his next campaign on a platform that the crown should not be able to say no to the prime minister's request.

He trounced Sir Arthur, which I think is rather a shame, because I'm pretty sure Sir Arthur would have been one of Canada's best ever PMs.

She'd never even try to do anything. If the three parties wanted to unite, they would.

I'm more of a conservative party supporter than a Harper fan per se. I don't see them agreeing on other issues in the future. Either way, we're probably looking at a short term parliament.

Wow--I have never seen the Canadian vote this high--its great!! Where have they all been?

Over 100 hundred of the votes are from this site.

How can you tell where the votes are coming from (apart from the location on the Google Map)? I'd be curious to know where people vote for on this poll.

You're right. I was looking at the stats of male/female. I didn't know that people off site could choose pirates, ninjas, etc.

The Western Standard Shotgun blog posted the poll. I also sent the poll to a few other bloggers, with instructions on how to embed the poll. It's possible that some other blogs have picked it up.

(The Western Standard blog was the #1 Canadian political blog in October, and #4 in November. We get a lot of traffic, so the number of votes shouldn't be all that surprising).

I voted for it. I'm a Canadian in disguise. Could be all the other people are from the blog, though, for all I know.
