Yeah I thought it already was, at least the US went morally bankrupt under Bush. I hope for the country that Obama can restall some of that.

Ohh yea...we got our morals back now that Obama is the president! That was one of the first things he did when he took office.

Really? You have some evidence that Obama was involved in the selling of his old senate seat? You might want to share that with Patrick Fitzgerald.

Oh, what's that? You don't have any evidence; you just enjoy making unsubstantiated allegations? Okay. At least we know how to judge your other remarks now.

I agree with your comment about ncatt, up to judging his/her other remarks. We all have to right to say something not thought thru, on a sugar high, half-drunk etc., without being labeled by one or two blunders, don't we. But, when someone makes a mistake, its TOTALLY COOL to call them out on it.. just be careful how far you go with judgement stuff.

You don't have the right to speak lies without getting called on them. As Hubert Hunphrey said, "The right to be heard does not include the right to be taken seriously."

Positive thinking might help you and many others survive these economic times.

Negative thinking might lead to depression and that is a deep, deep dark place.

Okay, I am positive the economy is in the toilet! ;)

Unemployment was reported at a record high today at ►9.5%◄

It nearly did last year, Obama is trying hard to rescue it, but the Republicans seem to be hell bend on doing nothing and allowing the country destroyed.

Oh, it is too easy to blame the Republicans, your political system is a shambles, money talks and it is accepted, if you want to make a start in changing things for the better, change deal with the way the lobbyist do business. As a party accept that the dealings should be made transparent and then hold Obama onto his campaign promise. And do not engage in trying to bypass any rules. Also both sides need to clean up the scandals in their own party so the other side does not have any amo.

And the same goes for forums like this, don't allow distorted statements and lies to be propagated. Deal with them, again that way you can always hold your head up high even when you do loose. But it is easier to deal with people you trust then constantly having to check the facts and debunk them. (not that it is hard to debunk any with google and all) When I screw up and I do often enough tell me, but show me why I screwed up. There is no need to tell me that I am an Imbecile, I already know that.

I doubt this will change your attitude, but at least I can say I tried.

Yeah, yeah... look it up on the Internet. If it's on the Internet, it must be true, right? ;o)

Geez... how far is that from the truth. The GLBT community is already blaming Obama for failure to rescind "Don't ask, don't tell." He has been roundly criticized for wanting to keep some detainees indefinitely without trial. He was roundly criticized for voting for telecom immunity. He is being roundly criticized for failure to withdraw troops from Iraq. He was roundly criticized for his administration's support of the Defense of Marriage act. I could go on, but you get the point.

Like I said many times before, the Republican party has become a bunch loudmouths that want to do nothing, but cutting taxes. They ran the country into the ground. And now trying to blame it on the democrats.

For your information they are not my Democrats, I am not allowed to vote in your country and if I were I would not be a member of the Democrat party.

The reasons not all the democrats would vote for the bailout have many reasons, the deficit will increase dramatically, from just over 1 trillion last year to about 1.5 trillion this year. (I am sure we will get to see the real numbers one day) And this will need to be fixed, Obama is counting on inflation taking care of it and in some ways it will, but that will not be enough.

The country might still go bankrupt and some major reform is needed, it is important that there is a good debate on the pro's and con's on all of the options, but the Republicans are lost and need to get organized in order to participate in fixing the mess that they in part created.

If you are interested in a clean debate, go for it, but what I see is all but a few Republicans putting up falsehoods loudly. I want to see your country to become an example on how to do things again, not on how not to do them!

You stated "Government has never created a job and never will."

So when the government buys weapons systems from defense contractors there are no jobs involved? The Post Office? Again, no jobs. The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines? Nope... no jobs there. The Veterans Administration. Again... no jobs at all, right? Geez... how could I never have noticed before that the government has NEVER created a job.

I do favor a tax system that is fairer for all, the rich do pay most of the taxes, is not fair. (they also have way to many loopholes) But in order to get there a whole lot more needs to be done, then just tinkering with the tax rates.

The US was in deep shit long before President Obama took the job.

It could have been Sarah Palin running around the White House wrecking the floors with her high heels, chasing John McCain.

Vanity Fair just did a blistering expose on her. I can't wait to read it!

Monica was SWEEET trailer trash! So was every one involved with her!

Why all do you think "trailer trash" is for you Repugs only? EVERY group has their own trailer trash! Stop hogging all the fun!

I also hope she runs, couldn't care less about the gossip though.

That might be your opinion. You also know (or at least should know) that the country would have been bankrupt if the "bailouts" had not happened. Is the borrowing and printing of money a problem then yes, absolutely! Does he have a cheaper alternative, yes, but that would be to allow the banks and corporations go bankrupt and then nationalize them, change the laws unopposed by the lobbyists and resell them again when they turn a profit (or not if he is a socialist) Not doing anything would also be an option, but surely you do not want to see your country bankrupt. And don't give me the crap that this would not have happened.

How about he direct the money to where it would do some good. Why don't you check and see where the money went. Like the dems and special interests.

Airports in Pa with 1 or 2 flights to DC only for one dem congressman, fence around a (dry-no water) lake, etc.

Obama is saving money by spending it?

What money? He's spending the I.O.U.'s

Obama is saving your country, well trying to, but it seems that the republicans are doing anything in their power to prevent that.

How is he saving the country?? What exactly has he done to save us? He and the Dems are spending money our childrens' children wont be able to pay back. On top of that hes trying to severely limit our access to energy resources.

You think the financial crisis is over yet? And I agree he HAS to figure out how to deal with the deficit, there is no question about that in my mind.

Now the last guy doubled the debt and left the country in SERIOUS trouble. How about you guys acknowledge that, then we can start talking about solutions.

For instance you can stop government spending and lay people of, how will this stimulate the economy? You can give tax cuts but how will that fix the deficit? Are you guys willing and able to discuss those options, or do you want to continue playing the blame game, because if you want to do that the majority (not all) the ammunition is against the last guy in office.

Obama has spent more money ALREADY than GB spent as president. So if it is bad for GB to spend money why is it good for Obama to spend money? You cant have it both ways.

If Im not mistaken the Dems are in control of the Presidency, the Senate, and the House. How are the Reps "stopping" Obama?

Also please note that the Dems were in controle of the Senate and the House when GB was president. How can everything be his fault? Im not saying he was the greatest thing since sliced bread but I think ya'll are exaggerating his effectiveness.

Yes the government is screwed up. There is no doubt about that, but Obama has fixed nothing...zero....its the same old same ole only bigger and more of it.

Come now, Obama spending more in the last three months then Bush did in 8 years?

The Republicans stop the Democrats by making truthful and sensible points. not wild accusations! That is how they will get re-elected.

The Democrats were not in control the first six years and when they were Bush vetoed any legislation that he didn't like.

The government needs to be held accountable, you can do that by making false accusations but then don't expect to be taken seriously. The people in the U.S. do want serious reform of the health care system. So knowing that, why don't you come up with your own workable solution to provide health care that cover every one, rather then oppose what people want?

Oh well, maybe you would care to put up some numbers to back up your assertions then?

The dems are running California, NOW! The Gov wants services cut, the dems won't let him. They want higher taxes. They control the state house & senate by 2/3rds.

If a dem gets elected, It will be their problem, raise the taxes. It will be interesting to watch. I don't live there and never will.

I have lived there but never again!

The US is going the way of California, spend and go broke!
