Why not?

Yes; just not any woman running in 2008.

Not if it's @#$%ing Mrs. Clinton!

Because a self-serving, disingenuous socialist cannot "effectively" lead this great nation... unless your objective is to destroy everything that has made this nation great.

somewhat like Bush?

Interesting that you present no rebuttal to my assertion regarding Mrs. C's self-serving, disingenuous socialist traits. Bush has had a difficult term as president, and he is far from perfect... but he has more integrity, sincerity and patriotism in his little finger than Mrs. C has in her entire body.

Yes he showed his great patriotism during his distinguished tour of duty , when they could find him sober, integrity certainly shined with his WMD's and masterful use of the language. Other than that your comment doesn't deserve a rebuttal.

Wonder why the libs moderated you down?

I didn't like the comment of BEC44 above. My reply was "BEC, I think it's time for you to cut back on the Kool Aid. You obviously hate our president... and you admire Mrs. C. I pity you."

She was going to try and fix the health care system the last time she was in the White House.

Aussie, this is not something that can be "fixed" by the United States Government. Keep in mind, every $1 worth of "good" that the government does requires them to take in $4. The lottery provides a better ROI.

You mean destroy it.

The only President in history with a criminal record is George W. Bush.

I remember getting emails from a right wing friend during the 2004 election that claimed Teresa Heinz-Kerry had her ketchup company husband murdered so she could give all of his money to commie-pinkos and terrorists. Oh - and so she could marry John Kerry and put his communist philosophy into operation from the White House. There's no point in arguing with them - they believe (REALLY believe) the craziest things about their fellow human beings once they hear a party affiliation. And they will defend the indefensible once they hear a party affiliation. Rush Limbaugh is God. Rush insists that all drug addicts are a blight on society and should be jailed. Rush's right-wing chant-alongs agree. Rush turns out to be a drug addict who's buying drugs on the black market. But "that's different ..." Hypocrisy never had a friend until the 21st Century Christian Republican.

Incidentally, I heard a first REAL argument FOR a Hillary presidency from a moderate Republican. His number one concern was keeping America safe from the terrorists. His argument was thus: The Taliban think women are evil. And they think the reason Bush attacked Iraq as to "get even with the guy who embarrassed my daddy ..." (I don't necessarily DISagree with that one) (lol) Bill has said his one real disappointment was not getting Osama while president. He felt the Taliban would probably shit themselves if we put her in office - worry that Hillary (to get 'even' for them embarrassing her husband) just might REALLY unleash something crazy on them. Like neutron bombs. The guy actually had a pretty good point.

Which allies are those, Jammys?

There is no reason why not. America is just another democracy, and I can recall effective female leaders in India, Israel and UK plus others.

From my own point of view I just want to see Bill Clinton as First Lady!
