OK, no. Using one crime spree is not a stereotype, seeing as they are mostly random. I would say though, that young people are more likely to go on a shooting rampage instead of becoming serial killers.

For some it is an unfair stereotype. For others, it is extremely accurate. That is how it has always been.

I am an old person who has never shot at any body. (Nor, as it happens, have I ever been shot at).

We/He are referring to people who DO get shot or DO decide to shoot others. Not the general population.
