I see the stereotype bending more towards ignorant/naive.
There is no smoke without fire.
Yes, only a very few are violent and only 99% are selfish.
For some it is an unfair stereotype. For others, it is extremely accurate. That is how it has always been.
I guess you could ask this about old people, also.

Yep. And most of the old people that are shot are shot by young people here.
OK, no. Using one crime spree is not a stereotype, seeing as they are mostly random. I would say though, that young people are more likely to go on a shooting rampage instead of becoming serial killers.

I am an old person who has never shot at any body. (Nor, as it happens, have I ever been shot at).
*sigh*
We/He are referring to people who DO get shot or DO decide to shoot others. Not the general population.
