Great decision. Obama will go down in history as a peacemaker. His intellect and heart are respected worldwide. He is a 'global man' in a 'global world' - long overdue.
I would think an award like this should be given to someone that has actually done something to EARN it. I see nothing that BO has done to EARN the award,,,it is apparently just a political move,,,what a shame.
My politly worded rather similar question was 'removed by the community' because that bigotted enemy of free speech Translate did not approve of it. If President Obama is were to be judged by the quality of his worshipers we would be in real trouble,
Ah, don't get your knickers in a knot, Peter. I had 9 questions removed yesterday, including what type of floor do you have among others. Just let it roll off a ducks back. It would take more than a remove vote from Translate to accomplish this anyway. You got a question? Just keep posting it...
I expect it was removed because of the options you gave, not the wording of the actual question. The only "yes" option also said Obama's "trying to make friends with Iran", which obviously isn't a good option for most voters. I think your question deserved to be removed for trying to make a political statement instead of polling.
Ironically enough I put the 'Yes - Obama talks to Iran' answer in because I think he is right to attempt to engage Iran in dialogue. No important downside if he soon disabuses any Iranian impression that he he weak.
Although I don't think Barack Obama's current record deserves him the prize, but I DO believe it is a GOOD thing. The world needs peace and Obama can make a difference on it. I think this prize will have a positive influence on his foreign policy.
By the way, an online survey in China shows that more than 80% of people over there question the result. Just FYI.

I don't particularly care. I'm not involved in the process, and when it comes down to it, so what?

I thought the award was cheapened when jimmy and algore won it. Now it must have the same amount of prestige as a car wash coupon!
I presume you are aware that the nominations closed 12 days into BO's presidency.
That is purely a political statement on your part. Funny that two Democrats are the only ones on your list.

you have got to be kidding me...seriously he hasnt done a damn thing.
