I ask this q because my father is in what I suspect to be a late stage of liver cancer. I attend his appts with his specialist and find he is very aloof- regularly responding to my questions with "what do you expect" and "he could continue for 18 months" as well as many other useless comments.
I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced the deterioration of someone in this situation? I realise there would always be differences with each persons excperience but I suppose I'm just trying to find out what I can.
I'm not sure what you have intended by this response.
I'm not looking for debate here about false claims of illness. I genuinely want to know if people have personally lived through the stages of deterioration through liver cancer with a friend or family member.

It seems to me the Specialist is answering your questions.
Late stage liver cancer, as the Specialist said, he could continue for 18 months.
Time is precious and your loving care is very important.
I gave up my job 9 years ago to help look after my Mother.
