And that won't change until it is to late.

True friends It really looks like that....

Well "that" doesn't matter as long as ►Algore◄ is getting "rich" >talking< about it!

It does not matter if AlGore is getting rich or not. What really matters is that too many don't seem to care about the scary reality, sit back and don't do anything positive for prevention.

Man is very dis-guided if he thinks he can change or effect global climate.

Are you saying you are not willing to do anything to help?

If I actually could help I would but I can not and you can not either.

Yes, I can, hideaway, and we do so for many years in many simple ways.

Example chemicals: We were told we are the only ones in our area of 354 houses who do NOT use chemicals at all.

Results: 1. We don't have problems while our neighbors are having their yards sprayed with chemicals regularly. Did you know a banana peel thrown at the stem of a rose bush from time to time avoids aphids and such and you will enjoy healthy roses? And there are many other natural recipies you can use successfully.

2. Three years ago a guest pointed in the air asking: "Can you hear anything?" I know what he meant. There was not one sound to hear except the wind in the leaves of our trees. When we moved here 12 yrs. ago all kinds of birds woke us up every morning with their wonderful songs. At dawn the sky was almost black of all the crows flying over our houses on their way to a large lake we live at. We miss all that for many years. The same happen with many other kinds of plenty of wild life we enjoyed so much and why we moved here. Sheldom 1 or 2 raccoons might show up. We are providing fresh water for small birds, for lager birds and for non flying animals, peanuts in shells for certain birds, specific plants and etc. Some birds are enjoying the water, mainly humming birds, but by far not as many and different kinds as years before. Last week I saw one lonely butterfly. Bees are more and more sheldom as well. No falcons, no wild ducks anymore, the list is endless. I could go on and on.

3. Rats and mice are taking over. Our cats are busy catching them at our neighbors' gardens.

Fact: That is not future anymore, it's reality already, at least what I can see in our neighborhood and is very sad. We don't even live close to each other.

I really do wish I would be wrong or would have over done this report.

I enjoyed reading it IAET, thought I would reply with my own story.

We only have one garbage bag a week to put outside, as well as two recycle bins and we compost the rest. We have no more regular light bulbs, have not had any for years. Added lots of extra insulation to the house and replaced the furnace and air-conditioning units with high efficiency units as they needed replacing anyway. All of those things were relatively cheap and proven to be sound investments as we use about half the energy the previous owners were using. I was able to do most of the work myself and expect that in a total of 6 years we will have gotten our money back (including the interest we would have gotten if we had invested it)

We are still looking for a condensing dryer like we had in the Netherlands ten years ago, but I can't seem to find them here. We only use it in winter, but when I see the heat going outside I think this is stupid, this should be used to warm our home.

We have lots of ladybugs here to take care of the aphids, I let them overwinter under the house. Sadly

I still use chemical spray to control bugs, I spray my apple trees twice after flowering, fruit is not perfect but I have more from my three trees then I can eat anyway and throw the ones I can not eat or give away to the deer and other animals that frequent our back yard. I throw the banana peel under the rosebushes as well, but more for the potash in them, then to control the aphids. This is something that is new to me, so thank you.

I also spray the cabbage and other vegetable plants the same time I spray the apples, thus only at the seedling stage and three weeks after. They have caterpillars in them now, but I find that the plants are big enough so a few holes in the leaves don't matter, besides the birds take care of the caterpillars well enough until ready to harvest in a month or so.

We still have lots of birds here, but the number of ravens seem to be increasing, I wonder if this is an undesirable thing. If so I will put netting over my compost bin, to keep them out.

I think he is saying it is arrogant to think we can control mother nature!

Yet we have been doing that from (at least) the day we started farming.

Some countries don't join the prevention, but many do and that is better than to do nothing. What good is it to wait for other's to start first? With good will every person can take their own steps to help with what is necessary and easy to do.
