I'm not sure Tom Willis is a member, so I decided to ask for him...

It was difficult to find a quote that would adequately convey the breadth and tone of this true marvel of an essay, but I think I managed it:

"Hard-line evolutionists spend their entire life declaring Christians to be ignorant, crazy and, probably dangerous. But evolutionism is totally contrary to the empirical facts of science. Anyone truly believing evolution is either totally

deluded or ignorant. Regarding who is really the dangerous group, in their unmitigated, and totally unjustified arrogance, evolutionists have caused more misery, and killed and tortured more people, in the last 90 years than all the wars of the last 2000 years.

“Thus, Evolutionist rhetoric, juxtaposed against the facts of science and history demonstrates that they are totally

incompetent, in addition to being angry and dangerous. In a truly sane society, e.g., the one to be run by God, evolutionists, at a minimum, would not be allowed to vote."

It's stunning isn't it =0)

Lol, in a society run by God, one would not be able (nor need) to vote.

LOL come on, you don't think an intelligent man, as Mr Willis clearly is, forgot that do you?

It all would be a whole lot funnier if he hadn't succeeded in lobbying to have Kansas remove mandatory teaching of evolution from it's curriculum.

That is sad, he should have banned mathematics instead. that way he could have manipulated the votes.

In the cited essay, the writer uses the term "evolutionist" to generate hysteria for his cause. "The evolutionists are coming!! Hide under your beds!" The writer is promoting Creation Theory, which he wants taught in high school science classes as a substitute for Evolution and its theoretical cause, natural selection. Now if he wants to teach Creation Theory in Sunday school, that's OK, since it certainly is based on his fundamental view that Genesis is literal truth, and as such, is a religious subject. But science? No, it is not science, and deserves no place in a science class.

The use of "Evolution" to justify bad behavior by individuals or groups of people was unjust and wrong. And the use of the term "Evolutionist" to generate a hysterical reaction is just as pathetic.

Pathetic - good description. This essay was a riposte to much blog-based criticism of a previous one which might be even more hate filled and delusional. His assertion for instance that Christians fought against slavery ignores several arguments made for it by Christians using Biblical passages. He also suggests: "The facts warrent the violent expulsion of all evolutionists from civilized society."

As I mentioned to ask001 above, it's terrible that his lobbying has already had some effect on the Kansas State School Board.

Who sails the ships out of Boston

Ladened with bibles and rum?

Who drinks a toast to the Ivory Coast?

Hail Africa, the slavers have come

New England with bibles and rum

And its off with the rum and the bibles

Take on the slaves, clink, clink

Hail and farewell to the smell

Of the African coast

Molasses to rum to slaves

'Tisn't morals, 'tis money that saves

Shall we dance to the sound of the profitable pound

In molasses and rum and slaves

One of my favorite musicals!

At least it inspited the Pastafarian Movement.

An ill wind that blows no one good :)

May you be touched by his Noodly Appendages. =0)

As with most warmongers, he ignores history. http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_slav1.htm

LOL it serves no purpose save to prove him wrong. Hell, he is even ignoring his Bible!! That's ok though, cos he's a True Christian.

Perhaps some of you "No" voters could weigh in with some comments, I'd be interested to see your justifications too =0)

i can't tell if this question is a joke. on the off chance that it isn't:

evolution isn't a mystery. as a creationist, if you can perform simple grade 9 math then you're an evolutionist. try this experiment. suspend your disbelief for a moment and take a minute to read any modern definition of evolution as it stands today. don't we all know the peppered moth story - perhaps a flawed experiment but the logic is pretty sound no?

it deosn't even take any imagination see?
