I've never been to the pen, not even to visit, so all I know is what I see in movies. How accurate is that? Why do people repeat crimes to go back there if it's as bad as the movies lead the average movie watcher to believe?
not like the movies! game room, tv room, craft rooms....conjugal visits...what a joke...the only one that has it right is Sheriff Arpaio in Maricopa County Arizona!
`Sounds like he's the boss. I was surprised by the number of parole violators and repeat offenders. `Sounds like "correction" measures aren't really working. When will they see the light and take Clockwork Orange out of the DVD stores and put it to work in law enforcement. I have been wondering that for thirty plus years.
When Dostoyevsky was writing, that would have been much more accurate. But today, in the U.S. the state of the prison system has swung so far to the other side, that it is ridicules. Although it is a necessary evil, until they are convicted, the accused have more rights than the victims do. But now after the conviction, prisoners can live a better life than some of their prey did.
interesting
Ah but is the tell tale sign the inmates or the guards and prison administrators?
Well, if you look at the prison/jail population in US, it really makes you wonder about our education system.
Well if you go to our prisons, its shows "stupidity"! Our prisons look like country clubs with a sideline of being law schools!

workout rooms and free college type material to study plus they sue for the wrong flavor tooth paste as their only choice.
Excpt for Arizona prisons.
don't join the group that speaks before they know something, Maricopa is a COUNTY "Jail" not a prison!

About 2% of the US population is incarcerated. About 6 million out of 302 million. Prisons show the worst of society not the norm.
