A truly democratic USA will only evolve when all references to religion and God are removed from politics.

The freedom of and from religion is a very important aspect of politics. It is part of the freedom of speech, freedom of association and freedom of thought. It needs separate mentioning as otherwise it will create problems with those choosing to misinterpret the law.
You can remove whatever you wish from America's political equation. God is not the battle in American politics. Control of the financial resources of America is.
Those who wish to maintain control of the financial resources have corralled the religious as a voting block. It is not a religious battle at all. It has been given the appearance of a religious battle to deflect, distract and amuse the populace.
Stop being distracted. Open your eyes. Use your brains.
I had to vote him back up from 0 earlier. The conservatives don't like God, either. He always talks about peace, love, generosity of spirit - all those things the conservatives hate. (lolol) Oh - and don't forget the "be good to each other," and "take care of those weaker than yourself." He said that once, too. He was in negative numbers.
Personally, I don't think they've forgiven him ever since he pointed out that Jesus' teachings kinda coincided with the liberal philosophy. (roflmaooooooooooo)

No I don't think so. Even though I would like to see all religion removed from politics and put where I think it belongs (in the fairytale departmemt), I think democracy can function with some religious parties / politicians being part of the democratic process. Most political parties use unrealistic theories anyway (like the utopies of communism and capitalism for instance), but I think in a democracy political parties should be free to do so.
They need to be part of the process insofar as protecting their freedom to believe fairy tales. Past that, they need to take their religion out of my life.
According to Conservative Boston radio talk show host, Michael Graham, I'm what's known as a EuroWeenie.
That's what he calls anyone from Europe who doesn't touch the forelock in deference to the almighty U S of A.
So, I guess I'm a EuroWeenie then, and proud of it.

I remember my R.E. teacher at school provoking a class debate with the question "was Jesus the first true communist" :)
I got that one in my first political science class!
*nuzzle*

As long as religions people are part of the democracy then how would you "democratically" remove it?
