I think it is more curiosity and choice than a mental illness. Bipolar and ADHD are mental illnesses, paedophilia is just plain sick, homosexuality is a choice and a fad or the need for attention. Possibly the lack of a hormone, but it isnt a mental issue.

both can be caused because the person can have a mental illness but they are not considered mental illnesses
