And still waiting for you to say something that makes actual sense :0)
See, we are already on our way with the auto industry, just give it time and there will be nothing to criticize Obama for. Nationalized healthcare is coming too, all the liberal "hopes" for us conservatives in the US will soon come true, if the H1N1 doesn't get us first :0) before social medicine can cure us all, well, maybe not us conservatives, I am sure we won't be deemed worthy of care by the all knowing and wonderful state :0)
PS Please note my attempted sarcasm, not so much directed at you as what is going on these days in general. Teabag on, lol.

There are good reasons to have well funded socialized health care, to begin with it is cheaper then what you currently have. And when it comes to deceases like flu, you want people to be able to see a doctor when they need to, regardless if they can afford to.
The same goes for education, we would all benefit from having the smartest people becoming doctors for instance, not limit the selection to those who can afford putting themselves through medical school.
We have just witnessed what can happen if we allow to have corporations freedom. The choice is to restrict those freedoms or to increase those freedoms. Considering the risks, what would you prefer?
I see no good reasons for socialized medicine period. Everyone will not be able to just go to the doctor that easily when they need to, please don't try to sell me that one because I am not buying. The state will decide who can go, when the can go, and that is certainly not better than what we have now. I think there can be something better than making the 90% of us who have healthcare pay to cover the 10% who don't. Actually, we do already cover that partially already through Medicare and Medicaid, which are such perfect systems, no fraud and no problems with them whatsoever, so let's let government take over it all. Yes, everyone should have healthcare, I don't dispute that, but I do not want socialized medicine, that is far from the answer. How will you get the best doctors if the state is going to control every aspect of medicine from prices to what doctors do? Who would want to be doctor, because our postal workers and DMV workers impress me so much with their thorough handling of their work. I see how well the US Postal System works run by the government. On May 11 we have another increase in stamp prices, yes, run so well they deserve more money for their success. The DMV is ridiculous too, so I don't think more government is the answer, sorry.
Again, the state and education, yes, they can certainly produce the best minds, sure, absolutely not. I doubt it will be some altruistic system that will propel only the best and brightest to the front of the class in a completely fair manner, since they were held back so much otherwise.
> We have just witnessed what can happen if we allow to have corporations freedom. The choice is to restrict those freedoms or to increase those freedoms. Considering the risks, what would you prefer?
Sorry, but having our government control it all isn't the answer either. For someone so worried about freedoms such as religion, you sure seem to want the state to take control of a lot of other things. Yes, let the government run our healthcare and education systems, control business, but don't let them touch religion that is hands off. Please force same sex marriage and abortion down my throat, but don't make me believe in God, that is wrong but never wrong for the state to force me to accept gay marriage or abortions for all woman whenever they want it. Please don't wiretap, but tell me when I can go to the doctor and what life saving procedure I can have and when I can have it. Keep DNA information on file, but don't racially profile, but hey, you have heart disease, well sorry you don't get healthcare, the state won't cover you.
So I must fear big business and religion, but not big government. Okay so my conservative thinking is what makes no sense, and liberal thinking is what makes total and complete sense, sure.

Certain things are done better by industry, other things are done better by a collective or government.
Since you are on average paying twice what people in Canada are paying, you can not claim that the US health care is cheaper. Since infant mortality rates and longevity are higher here, you can not claim it is twice as good (or even that it is better)
And I am not forcing religion down your throat nor am I forcing same sex marriage down your throat, nor am I forcing abortion down your throat! If you been paying attention you would have noticed that I am (as well as others here) saying that it should be up to the individuals involved to chose their religion, whom they marry, or whether or not to have an abortion.
Again I am not against wiretapping, I am against wiretapping without judicial oversight! Should I be allowed to hack your computer and phone? How about Obama as commander in chief be allowed to hack the republicans computers and phones?
And you can not go to the doctor now to get any procedure you want, abortion is just one of those procedures, nor can you get any medicine or drug you want. Euthanasia is illegal, but I can buy a handgun and shoot myself. Interestingly handguns are used more often for suicide then they are to kill some one else and the second most common use (when killing) is to kill a spouse.
And for what it is worth I am well aware there is no perfect solution! But be aware that the U.S. was surpassed in science output by the Europeans and very soon will be surpassed by the Chinese as well. And when you look at those American scientist you surely have noticed the number that have come from other countries.
I am left of center when it comes to economic issues, I am also half way libertarian when it comes to individual choices. In other words I do believe in strong protection for the individual, but strong regulation for companies and imports. I hope that clarifies my position a little.
> Certain things are done better by industry, other things are done better by a collective or government.
Oh yes, but healthcare isn't something handled better by a collective, I don't think that is the case.
> Since you are on average paying twice what people in Canada are paying, you can not claim that the US health care is cheaper. Since infant mortality rates and longevity are higher here, you can not claim it is twice as good (or even that it is better)
I certainly don't think US healhcare is the best or cheapest, I am a proud American, but far from having blinders on about flaws that could be fixed. I know Canadian healthcare is cheaper, but I am also aware some Canadians have come to the US for procedures they can't have done otherwise, so would I not say the Canadian system is perfect nor a model I hope for the US to emulate.
Ah, and if you were paying attention you would see that I am not some bible thumping, abortion clinic bombing gay bashing right wing nut. I simply don't want to be told I am somehow insane for having a religious faith, being against abortion, and against gay marriage. I don't care what religion someone else is, or if they are atheist, but don't make me feel small for having my faith and there is no reason to hide it or shield the world from it. I don't claim a woman is evil for having an abortion, but I will never feel it is right or want it to be handed out too easily. I think gay people can be together if they want, have it called something else, not marriage. Give them rights to share financial interests, health insurance, but not a marriage. I certainly am entailed to my beliefs as are you, and you say you feel choices are up to the individual, so those are my opinion on those issues.
> How about Obama as commander in chief be allowed to hack the republicans computers and phones?
No, he just wants to go after them for torture and exposed things done by the CIA, yes, water boarding.
Oh, and under socialized medicine those are non issues? The state makes it simple? I am talking about the state determining for example someone is not a candidate for a heart surgery because they are 80 and considered too old by the state. I am talking about the government testing you and seeing you have gene for cancer and or that saying sorry you can't have this procedure it is not cost effective since you may have cancer someday. See, I don't really care for a state run HMO system.
Oh, yes handguns, well I am not a gun owner myself nor a particular fan of them, but don't think total removal from every household will prevent anyone from committing suicide or murdering someone else. Sadly twisted people and very depressed people will find a way. Many serial killers have taken victims with no guns, so there are other methods as I am sure you are well aware and I don't think eliminating handguns would prevent spouses from murdering each other or prevent someone from killing themselves if they are desperate enough. Again, statistics are what they are, taken with a grain of salt. And if you feel so strongly against individual choices why do you care how someone chooses to end their life, or if they choose to have a gun or not, isn't that their right if you feel strongly about individual choice. Funny, I am sure you feel certain recreation drugs should be legal, isn't that kind of like finding a way to kill oneself slowly? It is clear were heroin addiction can take someone for example, and banning it hasn't stopped that from killing people. This government tried banning alcohol and what did we have - gangsters, speakeasy's, racketeering. Banning guns would probably send it underground, really it might then kind of end up like the problem you could say with our handling of drugs has created in the US.
> And for what it is worth I am well aware there is no perfect solution! But be aware that the U.S. was surpassed in science output by the Europeans and very soon will be surpassed by the Chinese as well. And when you look at those American scientist you surely have noticed the number that have come from other countries.
And a state run school get us back in the forefront how exactly? How will that solve that issue for the US?
> I am left of center when it comes to economic issues, I am also half way libertarian when it comes to individual choices. In other words I do believe in strong protection for the individual, but strong regulation for companies and imports. I hope that clarifies my position a little.
And I am to the right on economic issues and slightly authoritarian on individual choices. Guess that puts us at opposite ends those arguments, obviously. I guess that makes me more of a laissez-faire capitalist and not a free for all in individual rights I suppose. I hope that clarifies where I am coming from.

Americans come here to get free health care, they even go to India for transplants. Like I said before the U.S. health care is not better Canadians live longer, so you can not claim U.S. health care is better.
And I did not claim you were "some bible thumping, abortion clinic bombing gay bashing right wing nut" But I wonder where you get of telling people what word they can use to describe their relationship.
Schools in Europe and China are state run, it seems to be working there...
And on the wiretapping you didn't answer if you thought Obama should be allowed to wiretap any one without oversight.
> Americans come here to get free health care they even go to India for transplants.
Well, I'm not one on them, so really couldn't speak for that.
> Like I said before the U.S. health care is not better Canadians live longer, so you can not claim U.S. health care is better.
Never said the US health care is better.
> But I wonder where you get of telling people what word they can use to describe their relationship.
And where do you get off telling me I have to accept it is a marriage, I am not saying same sex couples should be kept apart, but I am not going to call it a marriage. Fact, that is what more than half of Americans feel on that topic.
> Schools in Europe and China are state run, it seems to be working there...
And they have no problems in their systems I am sure.
> And on the wiretapping you didn't answer if you thought Obama should be allowed to wiretap any one without oversight.
Nope, not going to either. He is more interested in going after the previous administration for waterboarding, "firing" CEOs, saying the US has been arrogant, shaking hands with Chavez, bowing to the Saudi King, getting a Portuguese Water Dog, having pictures with no shirt on the front page of magazines, and reading his teleprompter to worry about that; Why should he worry about stuff like wiretapping or running the country or keeping the country safe or doing more to help the economy than spending money, he can blame Bush for whatever goes wrong for the next millennium. I am sure he will never do anything that is questionable during his time in office, or anything to be criticized for.

Good to see you are not claiming your health or school system as better.
I so hope those who authorized the torture will be prosecuted and spend some serious time in jail. Obama should not be involved in that except for maybe appointing the people going after those bastards and releasing the evidence when appropriate.
The previous administration was arrogant and they were the face of the U.S.
As on "firing" CEO's would you keep on any of your staff if they don't perform?
Bowing to the Saudi King (not elected) is bad, but kissing him is fine? Shaking hands with foreign leaders (and Chavez was democratically elected) is somehow bad? And he should not be involved in picking the family dog, is not allowed to go to the beach, or use prepared speeches and read them of the teleprompter?
Obama is slightly to the right on economic issues and slightly authoritarian on individual choices. Your dislike for the man is ridiculous, you are behaving like a jilted lover.
> Good to see you are not claiming your health or school system as better.
Too bad you aren't doing the same.
> The previous administration was arrogant and they were the face of the U.S.
As is our current leadership, and equally as arrogant.
Chavez a symbol of democratic leadership, I think not. Chavez called Obama a moron and Bush the devil, really a good man to be friendly with. Yes, but that is what the media is so fascinated with, his family choosing a dog and his beach body, please, not what the man is doing government wise. The media has been obsessed with covering him more than any previous president. Oh, but he always needs the teleprompter, can't seem to function without it.
> Your dislike for the man is ridiculous, you are behaving like a jilted lover.
Well, I am a dissatisfied citizen is more like it, these 105 days in office have made me concerned for the direction he is taking us. I have a right to express that as all those who dislike Bush were free to do so, as I heard constantly. Am I not entitled to my concern, opinions, distrust, dislike even? Why should I hide or conceal that?
Chavez called Obama a moron? Any credible link for that? But Chavez had good reasons to be upset with Bush, as he has probably encouraged the Venezuelan coup attempt of 2002. Overthrowing a democratically elected government is not a good thing in my book either. I don't know enough about Chavez his opposition or Venezuela, but overthrowing a democratically elected leader of a country, while kissing up to a dictator, because he lends you money is not a high point in ethics. The reason the U.S. was seen as evil world wide is because it said one thing and did another.
You can be concerned about the direction he is taking you in, I am concerned about certain aspects as well (like the continuation of the wiretapping without warrants) I would have a beer with Bush, I don't dislike the man, I disagreed with many of his policies.
Obama bowed to the Saudi king and I don't mind, nor do I mind Bush kissing up to the same king, as the U.S. needs Saudi Arabia right now. Getting energy independence would be the smartest thing to do and you might disagree with that. But I would like to see a viable alternative rather then saying "Obama is wrong"
Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Sunday his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama was at best an "ignoramus" for saying the socialist leader exported terrorism and obstructed progress in Latin America.
"He goes and accuses me of exporting terrorism: the least I can say is that he's a poor ignoramus; he should read and study a little to understand reality," said Chavez, who heads a group of left-wing Latin American leaders opposed to the U.S. influence in the region.
I was wrong, he called him an "ignoramus." :0(
>You can be concerned about the direction he is taking you in, I am concerned about certain aspects as well (like the continuation of the wiretapping without warrants) I would have a beer with Bush, I don't dislike the man, I disagreed with many of his policies.
Thank you. As for wiretapping, I am not like rah rah rah for things like that or waterboarding, etc., but I just don't feel that our countrymen, our allies, (even civilian reporters - there have been videoed beheadings) have been treated with any rights by terrorist or hostiles, so I am not going say the government can't do that if they need information from a suspected terrorist, hell I might do it myself to prevent an attack on innocents.
It appears Congress was briefed on waterboarding, despite what Nancy Pelosi says, so I don't think our Congress was in the dark on that method, and that can't be put solely on the head of the Bush Administration. I have to say I am shocked to hear you say you would have a beer with the guy, that made me chuckle :0)
> Getting energy independence would be the smartest thing to do and you might disagree with that. But I would like to see a viable alternative rather then saying "Obama is wrong."
Yes, and you are probably right that we would disagree on how best to achieve that move from oil dependence, but it should be a goal. Well, I don't think I necessarily said "Obama is wrong," I sure hope we succeed and thrive as a country, I see certain changes that I am just not sure about, that's all.

I agree with you (Wingnutt) a survey can be made to say just about what you want it to say by the way you ask a question or by the question it's self. We are surely NOT on the right track.
Oh, and also, keep Dick Cheney on TV as much as possible. Big win for us every time he opens his pie hole.
I forgot to add - also, Republicans, please keep getting indignant about right-wing extremist terrorism threats. Always a plus when you defend potential domestic terrorists.

If liberals in Hollywood can use the Oscars to share their agenda, let conservatives have a voice and peacefully assemble. Although there is a misconception that those tea parties were a GOP controlled and contrived thing that was anti-goverment and racist (yeah, it has been said). The GOP didn't come and tell me to go to a tea party, so why are Dems getting so up in arms about that. There are claims protesters were crushed under Bush, yet I remember hearing so much Bush bashing and no one I know was carted off for that. However now if you say anything against the current administration you are labeled a racist-gay bashing-abortion-clinic-bombing-gun-loving-bible-thumping-evil-right-winger-nutjob.

If you only survey people that voted for BO, of course the numbers are going to be high. I do believe they are doctored numbers.
At this time, very few people are doing good except those that have money, lots of money.
We are not on the right track.

Thank the Republicans for that! And the new guy is turning it around and you don't like it?
I still don't like that they have not nationalized the failed banks, but on the economy that is the only criticism I have on Obama.

> Bowing to the Saudi King (not elected) is bad, but kissing him is fine? Shaking hands with foreign leaders (and Chavez was democratically elected) is somehow bad?

Do you have any evidence (other than you non-expert personal opinion) that they are doctored numbers?
Or do you think that any numbers that disagree with your opinion must be doctored?
Yeah because he is right so often!
He's always right... it only appears that he's not right sometimes because they doctor the numbers.
Geez... how convenient is that.
I agree with you (Wingnutt) a survey can be made to say just about what you want it to say by the way you ask a question or by the question it's self. We are surely NOT on the right track.
A lot of the media everywhere uses surveys and polls and bend them around to try and influence people and get them thinking their way.
"The majority of people disagree with me - this must be wrong!"
Do you feel that way about the polls posted here by conservatives?
This looks like a quote that might be useful for reference later on. I'll have to "favorite" this one.
Absolutely, more teabagging please!
Oh, and also, keep Dick Cheney on TV as much as possible. Big win for us every time he opens his pie hole.
I forgot to add - also, Republicans, please keep getting indignant about right-wing extremist terrorism threats. Always a plus when you defend potential domestic terrorists.
> Absolutely, more teabagging please!
